Where Clarity Learns to Breathe – Oriveti bleq Purecaster Review.
Sometimes an earphone doesn’t just play music it takes you somewhere hidden inside the sound itself. That’s exactly what this IEM does. With its minimal design, surprisingly mature sonic character, and technical balance, this IEM represents a true quiet power.
Table Of Content
After spending a week with it, I realized something simple, some earphones tell you about the music, while others invite you inside it. The Purecaster belongs to the second group. Inviting, intimate..

Design & Build Quality
The shell is crafted from precisely machined aluminum alloy, cool to the touch yet reassuringly solid. The finish leans toward matte silver rather than deep black. Its cable is of high quality a 4-core silver plated copper (SPC) braid that feels flexible but firm, with almost zero microphonics.
The nozzle isn’t long, but the fit is surprisingly comfortable. Oriveti’s ergonomic expertise clearly shines here. Even during long listening sessions, there’s no pressure or discomfort, the silicone tips seal perfectly and prevent leakage. The material quality is genuinely impressive for its price. ($149)
Comfort & Isolation
Purecaster delivers excellent isolation in quiet rooms and maintains satisfying noise blocking in outdoor environments as well. Whether on the road, in a cafe, or even inside a studio, external noise was significantly reduced. That level of passive isolation makes a big difference, especially when listening to acoustic or vocal focused music where micro details matter.

(Spinfit Eartips, which provide maximum insulation performance and are made of medical material, were used throughout the test.)
Thanks to its over ear cable design, the fit stays stable. This makes it easy to forget the IEMs are there at all, allowing you to stay immersed in the music during long sessions or live monitoring.
Sound Signature: Balance, Clarity & Peace
At first listen, the Purecaster can be summed up with one word clean.
But this is not the kind of sterile cleanness that strips away life; instead, it’s a refined transparency that carries emotion and depth. It’s surprising, in the best way possible.
Bass
The low end is deep yet controlled. Sub-bass energy is soft, almost analog in texture. Especially with electronic or ambient tracks, it offers a solid foundation without unnecessary boom. Mid-bass is quick and tight, with drum hits that sound full and defined.
When paired with the Zishan Z4, the bass becomes a bit more “meaty” and dynamic the typical liveliness of the ESS DAC clearly shows itself here. With the Tanchjim LUNA, the bass sounds more linear and natural, the signature smoothness of the CS43198 DAC easily recognizable.
Midrange
This is where the Purecaster truly shines. The mids are pure, silky, and full of breathy realism. Vocals are forward but never intrusive; female vocals carry a gentle warmth, while male voices stay neutrally textured. Guitar tones are crystal clear, and string instruments have a satisfying body. In jazz or acoustic recordings, the level of detail retrieval is remarkable.
On the LUNA, mids sound more natural and analog, whereas the Zishan Z4 pushes the stage wider, but the vocals step a bit back. The ESS DAC’s classic analytical signature shows itself here clearer, but slightly colder in tone. Oddly enough, I find myself liking this presentation.
Treble
The treble range is one of the Purecaster’s most impressive aspects. It’s bright but never sibilant, with an outstanding level of resolution. Cymbals shimmer beautifully, violin harmonics are airy, and reverb tails extend naturally.
With the Tanchjim LUNA, highs sound sweeter and more relaxed; with the Zishan Z4 and its ESS DAC + OPA1622 amp combo, the treble gets a bit more spotlight micro-details jump forward. This is especially noticeable in classical and hi-res recordings where the sense of micro-resolution is incredible. However, over long sessions, it can become a bit fatiguing. Even though I personally prefer the analytical signature, it’s something to acknowledge.

Soundstage & Instrument Separation
The Purecaster’s soundstage is impressively large for its price point. Instrument spacing feels airy, stereo imaging is wide, and the sense of depth is moderately three dimensional. Paired with the LUNA, the stage feels more organic and fluid; with the Zishan Z4, it becomes sharper, more “laboratory like,” with razor-edged precision.
Instrument separation is top tier. Even in dense orchestral passages, no instrument bleeds into another. This reveals both excellent tuning and fast transient response.
Driveability & Source Matching
The Oriveti bleqk Purecaster is a 32-ohm IEM not hard to drive, but it definitely benefits from a strong source. Even straight from the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it performs decently, but its true potential emerges with external DAC/AMPs like the Tanchjim LUNA or Zishan Z4.
With the Tanchjim LUNA (CS43198), the presentation becomes warmer, more emotional, and distinctly analog especially with vocal music, this combo feels almost magical. It’s quite a surprise in the $150 range.
On the Zishan Z4 side, dynamics increase, details sharpen, and the stage expands slightly forward. This combination pushes the Purecaster to its technical limits, though the ESS’s analytical sharpness can get tiring over extended sessions. Personally, I don’t mind I prefer that kind of fatigue.

Tuning Nozzles: Subtle But Important Changes.
One of the Oriveti bleqk Purecaster’s lesser known yet impressive touches is its interchangeable nozzles. Two interchangeable tuning nozzles, one silver and one black, are included. These aren’t just aesthetic variations; they also subtly yet clearly shape the IEM’s overall tonality, allowing listeners to fine tune the sound based on personal preferences or musical genres. Frankly, I appreciate these subtleties.
Silver nozzle: Slightly opens up the upper frequencies, adding more air and sparkle to the presentation. With this configuration, the high pitched extension becomes more pronounced, and the overall sound feels a bit brighter and cleaner. Vocals gain added presence, and micro details like cymbal vibration or room reverberation stand out with greater clarity. It’s an ideal setting for listeners who appreciate analytical clarity, acoustic recordings, or classical and instrumental genres where high end precision is crucial.
Black nozzle: Smooths the upper range and gently boosts the bass. This tuning offers a warmer, fuller sound signature that feels more comfortable and natural. Bass lines are slightly more pronounced, and the overall presentation is easy on the ears during long listening sessions. This configuration pairs perfectly with jazz, pop, or vocal tracks where you want a more organic and emotionally expressive sound. I personally prefer the black nozzle.
While both nozzles maintain the Purecaster’s core identity of balance, detail, and refinement, the ability to customize its signature with such a simple change adds true versatility. This is a thoughtful feature that demonstrates Oriveti’s understanding of personal sound preferences, giving users the opportunity to shape their listening experience without sacrificing quality. I appreciate it.

Pros
- Excellent build quality and comfort for the price
- Natural, refined tonal balance
- Satisfying stage width and instrument separation
- Exceptional treble control and detail
- Silky, emotional mids (especially with Cirrus Logic-based sources like LUNA)
- Scales beautifully with different sources a rare versatility
Cons
- Can become slightly fatiguing with ESS DAC pairings during long sessions
- Sub-bass may feel too controlled for true bassheads
- Stock cable is great, but finding aftermarket replacements can be tricky

Conclusion: Quiet Strength, True Balance
The Oriveti bleqk Purecaster is an IEM that “says a lot without saying much.”
When you listen to it, there’s neither a clinical coldness nor exaggerated warmth just the essence of music, pure and present.
With the LUNA, it creates a soft, emotional, and peaceful world, with the Zishan Z4, it becomes sharper and more studio-like. In both cases, it presents music in different shades of the same elegance.
This IEM doesn’t speak through numbers it speaks through feelings. Maybe that’s why every listen feels like rediscovering the same song all over again. If you want to hear elegance within silence, the Oriveti bleqk Purecaster is waiting for you.
