Mobileaudiophile is an independent audio review platform covering in-ear monitors, headphones, portable DACs, amplifiers, and source gear. We launched in 2021 with a simple premise: honest assessments written by people who actually use this equipment, not spec sheets dressed up as opinions.

Every review on this site reflects real listening time — across genres, sources, and eartip configurations — rather than a checklist of frequency response talking points. Our standard test chain runs through the HiBy R4 DAP via 4.4mm balanced output with Qobuz streaming, and deviations from that setup are noted explicitly in each review.

We cover the full range of the portable audio market, from budget ChiFi IEMs to flagship-tier gear, because the question “is this worth it at this price” only makes sense when you know what the alternatives actually sound like.

The site is run by Mahir Efe Falay, with reviews contributed by a small group of writers who share the same commitment to direct, unsponsored assessments. Sample units are accepted from manufacturers and always disclosed. Editorial independence is non-negotiable.
