Auglamour is a Chinese brand producing iems, earbuds and amplifiers. Auglamour RT-3 is the ~100$ answer to the growing demand of iems. Very comforable in ear. Driver is not shaped in custom fashion and not 3d printed. Hybrid structure with 2 Knowles BA + 1 Dynamic driver.

Box, RT-3, Cable

Box is with flying colors. Looks like it carries lots of paint strokes. Averagely sized (smaller than DM8 box), lots of information at the back side. The iem itself is a metallic shell unlike modern custom inspired plastic build KZ shells. Splashed with 2 tones of green and dark gray. Blank shell surface’s metallic gray completes the image.

There is a large and a tiny hole at each driver and a line of microholes. The nozzle is made of black plastic and even though lips at the nozzle makes inserting tips somewhat hard, ensures a firm grasp. And lastly the cable.

Cable is 2 pinned .78mm and detachable. Thin like Audio Effect TRY01 we had reviewed. See. Y Split and chin guard isn’t neglected as well as the stress guard after its main connector.

Driver: Knowles30017 balanced armature + Titanium PU diaphragm dynamic

Diaphragm: high polymer composite titanium-plated diaphragm

Frequency range: 15Hz-40KHz

Sensitivity:(15Hz)115dB/mW (1KHz) 105dB/mW

Impedance: 19Ω

Channel Balance : <1.5dB(at 1kHz)

Rated power: 10mW

Detachable standard: 0.78mm-2PIN

Cable: OFC&SPC Oxygen-free copper & Oxygen-free copper silver plating mixed wire core

Sound

Bright to neutral timbre. Only a hint of warmness. Bright at every note. Good for details because its revealing, bad for a. Might be tiring. b. Melancholic atmospheres because you seek the dark and gloom of the slow paced music. Playing forward and somewhat aggressive. A mild body. Not like BGVP vg4. Stage is wide and deep and airy. Instrument projection is rich. Layering is good / very good but layering behind the singer is great. With the pretty good layering factor, many instruments of the 96 part orchestra can be distinguished. Backing vocals can easily be heared. Details (especially in vocals) and microdetails are fine. Instrument seperation earns a thumbs up. We loved the seperation and layering especially at electroguitar solos and at high quality recordings such as http://www.deezer.com/track/1030033192

Basses thump well. Mid bass is carrying the heavy duty. You can feel the tiny vibration when the stick hits the drums surface if the record lets you to. Fine if you want to jump in the rthyme at electronic music and dubstep / drum’n bass. Mids are not subdued as is vocals too. And they stay where they are meant to thus none are passing the singers line at the stage. Lifts your appreciation high. Treble is fantastic at this iem. Lifelike and not getting tired even at rock is a A with stars.

Auglamor RT-3 Review Conclusions

This Auglamour RT-3 is a picky and cruel beast which reveals hidden guilts of the music you play. Give it perfect records (like they record at Abbey Road) and it shines. Feed with bad (http://www.deezer.com/track/820905782) and have terribly congested drums and unrealistic violins.

Picky with tracks and selective with sources too. Neutral or treble happy source might be boring or tiresome (with the treble storm). Best consumed with warm and bassy source devices.

Ps: amping doesn’t change much. Contours, echoes, basses, imaging improve.
