7Hz Audio is celebrating their 10th anniversary with the Eternal. Eternal is 1DD only and mirror like transparent backplated. Timeless is a planar magnet iem! Now both halves of the apple are in our website.

Let’s look at their first impressions. Review, 6N Pure Copper cable rolling and the long through VS between both will follow in the next weeks

First of all, let’s assume that I am an oldie cheapskate and these are what would I face when using 7Hz Audio Timeless with Sansa Clip+. Used stock tips. Zero burnin.
Isolation is only okay. Good enough to block the micro detail sound out but besides it, almost none if you consider stock tips.
Large 14.2mm Planar Driver.
Ultra-Thin Diaphragm.
Powerful Double-Sided Neodymium Magnet.
Standard MMCX connectors.
Available in both 3.5mm/4.4mm termination options.
Impedance: 14.8 ohms.
Sensitivity: 104dB.
THD+N: <0.2%.
Frequency Response: 5Hz-40kHz.
After I pressed the play button , I am surprised about the sound quality I hear. Nothing like plugging a hd650 to the good old Clip+. A high mid presence is noted. Reminded me of Heart Mirror. Basses have weight when the drummer hits. But almost no microdetails in my reference song (the Decemberists – The Island). But Colin Melloy and his backing vocal are singing to me. Speaking of back, background is dead silent but tonality is suffering on this supposedly low power.
All these experiences were from a %75 volume leveled ordinary Sansa Clip+. This showed me that even tough a planar magnet is Timeless, I might be living the same situation with what I lived at iphone 5s + Hifiman he400s. I was hearing a sound plus some technicalities but all was different after using Schiit Valhalla 2 + Bifrost + QLS Qa360.
Now let’s leave assuming aside and use some of the main force.
I can’t rotate the volume knob after 1 o’clock. So I settled for 10.5. I am now hearing a richer experience in which I can “feel” the acoustic guitar’s strings one by one. Melloy is behind a very thin and smooth velvet but his voice’s very slight deepness and crispness is heard. Insane level of details and stage width at well mastered tracks like of DT. Basses are defined with precision. Sorry not rumbling below. Or no bassy atmosphere and shakes at the bass drop seconds as is its not mid bass friendly. (the contradiction with its frequency graphs remind me of a. driving b. burnin c. eartip issue. But finding out which is reserved to its review) Treble is plenty and in HQ like HM. But rolling off fast in electronics. Micro Details add more satisfaction. Layering is speaking “planar magnet” even at 0 hour burnin. And instrument separation is quite high. Mid band instruments flow like liquids in even electronic music.

What it gained with the power of V30 + TRI TK-2 combo compared to using only SansaClip+? Smoothness, liquidity, airyness, texturings at both the vocal and the instruments, transparency, somewhat capacity to reflect the ambiance.

Let’s turn back to ignorant and cheapskate days. I am using Sansa Clip+ with the magnificent looking 7hz Audio Eternal.

Impedance: 30Ω.
Sensitivity: 109dB/1kHz.
Frequency response range: 10Hz-20kHz.
THD+N: <0.2%@1kHz.

I’d hear the level of what I heard in Timeless on %50 sound level off Clip+. Using the same songs, basses are weaker, lower mids are poor. Vocal is near 1d. Soundstage is wide but contradicting it, narrow soundstage was a common problems folks mentioned in my preciouss 🙂 There is no mid emphasis or slightly metallic timbre now. Everything is more organic and natural thanks to it’s LCP diagram. Instruments are well separated and tonality is a strong feature of the Eternal even off Sansa Clip+.

TRI TK-2 and V30 part will be added after my brick collects enough charge 🙂 So I switched to Qudelix Q5K instead.

(give me 15mins of listening until TRI TK-2 is charged like %10)

Upper mids are in control now. Bass is weightier, almost punchy and tasty, in 3d. Vocal’s forwardness is reduced but clarity and transparency improved greatly. Very nice to hear the backing vocal in the recording. But due to the withdrawal of upper mids, some other aspects withdrew too. But there are always additions as well. First, not as bright as Timeless was. Second sharpness is slightly reduced.

Ambiance test now geared QK5 up to 158 mV and no distortion but impressive bass and digital pipe organs. And I have the impressed face now! But if it had sizeable bass, all would be perfect here. This was all with my backup Qudelix q5k, now time of TRI TK-2 and v30. Mids are more nearby me and bass volume is increased, almost like 3d. Not even a single beat in sticked to the next. Boy my chest is slightly compressed now when the attack began on the Daft Punk – Contact began. And the songs ended with a higher frequency ending. Outro’s distortion effect is more clear too.

7Hz Audio Timeless and Eternal Preview Conclusion

If you want bass go to Eternal and see what 1DD is capable of. If you want a razor sharp clarity and separation go to Timeless but don’t forget. Their first impressions above are from equally non burned in and stock condition at everything. Their higher powered impressions and other aspects will be covered in their seperate reviews.
