Tronsmart T8 Portable Speaker Review: Cool, Crystal-Clear Sound
Disclaimer:
Good morning readers! Finally, a new portable speaker from Tronsmart! The Tronsmart T8 is a continuation of the previous model. I haven’t owned the T7, but I’ve owned the T7 Lite, which isn’t even remotely comparable. However, I currently own the Tronsmart Mirtune S100, which falls within its category with some notable differences.

Design/Build Quality:
The speakers build quality has remained unchanged for some models. The Tronsmart T8 quality is excellent and on par with well-known brands; however, this model features a design I would describe as a “bottle.” Its dimensions are roughly the size of a half-liter or 700 ml water bottle.

At the top is the volume control wheel, which is very convenient, although it could be a bit more delicate over long periods of time. They’ve placed a small RGB ring around the volume wheel that’s only visible at night. It’s not very visible, but its design and style are minimalistic. The cylindrical structure houses two small full-range drivers at the top, two passive radiators in the center, and a woofer at the bottom. This arrangement gives the Tronsmart T8 a very pleasant 360-degree sound. On the back are the usual controls found on all Tronsmart speakers, as well as the various inputs.

Below the woofer is a rubberized base to prevent vibrations. This model is best used vertically to allow for better sound propagation.
Tronsmart T8 Built-in Technology:
In terms of technological innovation, there are no major changes compared to some previous models. Like the others, the Tronsmart T8 can be paired with another identical speaker via TWS pairing.

The drivers, in my opinion, are superior in quality because they have a particularly crystal-clear sound, but the unique feature I noticed in a teardown video is the reinforced passive radiators. This solution should deliver cleaner, less distorted bass. Indeed, it appears to be the case.
Starting from the top, we find:
- On and off button + switching of LED games
- BT for pairing or TWS mode
- Previous Song
- Play/pause
- Next Song
- SoundPulse mode
Equipment used for testing:
Device:
- Poco M4 Pro
- Hotwav Pad 8
Software:
- Amazon Music UHD
Sound impressions:

The Tronsmart T8 undoubtedly boasts a more refined sound. It doesn’t feel quite mono, but it’s closer to a more immersive, stereo-like sound, even with just one speaker. I can deduce that the two drivers are around 8-10 watts, while the woofer is 20 watts. Mine has a bit of white noise during pauses or when switching tracks. This isn’t necessarily a flaw, but I hope Tronsmart works with a darker background as possible in the future. Implementing Bluetooth with AAC support wouldn’t be a bad idea. The main difference compared to other Tronsmart models I’ve tested is that it manages to maintain superior bass modulation, effectively reproducing a more realistic bass, although, as you might imagine, a 6 cm driver can’t reach ultra-low frequencies. However, compared to the Mirtune S100, the bass quality is significantly superior, less impactful, but with more texture. But the other frequencies also sound more composed and clean, and this could be due to the reinforced passive radiators that reduce distortion. The final tuning, also, in my opinion, aims for clearer mids.
Fast comparison:

They don’t cost exactly the same, but I have to say that they are two models that, in a certain sense, fall into the same category. One is more massive and powerful, while the other is more elegant yet refined. The choice isn’t dictated only by the price difference but also by portability. The Tronsmart T8 has a much more portable design and is also smaller. In terms of power and impact, the Mirtune S100 is a small Bang Max. The Tronsmart T8, on the other hand, is more refined; it doesn’t overdo it, but it also delivers very high sound pressure levels, yet it delivers 360-degree sound.
I have a few spots in a room where I can place these speakers and concentrate all the sound they can produce to effectively compare the differences. In terms of sound, the T8’s structure plays to its advantage in open spaces. Its sound is very enveloping and expansive, actually containing a lot of detail. The Mirtune, on the other hand, is more directional, raw, and flexes its muscles, especially in small spaces where it uses the walls to boost the bass. The Mirtune S100 is the kind of speaker that you feel the air vibrations in your chest.
Conclusion:
One of my favorite models to date remains the Tronsmart Bang SE, which I gifted to a good friend. Its size and performance remain among the best I’ve tested to date, but if you’re looking for something more compact, the Tronsmart T8 is definitely a great compromise with excellent sound.
The app works well and allows for some tuning adjustments to suit your preferences. Overall, the Tronsmart T8 has less power but better control than the Mirtune S100.
Tronsmart is evolving, and I hope they keep pace with their competitors by constantly improving their products. I especially believe they should focus on developing increasingly compact and powerful drivers. I believe they’ve made some progress, especially with these newest releases. These improvements can already be noticed from the differences compared to the Tronsmart T7, more power, more battery and an even lighter weight. The Tronsmart T8 is the perfect size to carry in a backpack or in a bottle cage on your bike.
The choice of the right portable speaker is yours based on your needs.
