KBear INK is one of the latest KBears we have and review. Seeing the very successful Little Q for its price, let’s see if Ink makes up its promise.

Pros__

Huge basses

Body in sound (with the right tips)

Decent clarity and instrument separation

Easy to drive

Cons__

Tip dependant

Recessed mids

Box, KBear INK, Cable

Box is rectangle black with some texture. Looks heavy. Contents are too. Different tips, carrying case etc.KBear INK is carrying design touches of BElieve and Aurora. However this 2 pinned iem is unique on its own. Comfortable in the ear.Cable is one of the strong points of it. Looks though yet flexible and in color scheme to accompany the name INK.

Sound

Living a very thin and bodiless experience got me thinking that this is not right. INK was famous for its basses. So I switched back to its OG cable. Previous was the Dioko’s because I couldn’t plug the OG cable to its socket at that time.

With its OG cable its sound returned to what it should be. Eartips are the stock ultra wide bored eartips. Soundstage is very wide now, just like hearing the same tune from two different speakers. And the sound is very balanced with no bass bleed or discoloration. I will feel the need to roll the tips if I hear the same bass at dubstep.

Speaking of dubstep, I launched Centipede with OG eartips on to see more or less the same result. So rolled OG black bored eartips and the result instantly changed despite the hint of metallicness remained. Mid basses began to show their heads in a positive way. Presentation is forward and driving is pretty easy. 40/100 volume of dx300 is high for an extended listen.

Finally Polyphia’s time. Hearing no invasive bass at the intro was good and I heard nice instrument separation. But mids were recessed so the bossa nova part of it was not that delicious. All who know this song will catch what I mean. And finally it didn’t leave an analytical taste like Dioko in my ears. Instruments had to be clearly separated.

KBear INK Review Conclusions

INK is a decent offering with a strong cable from KBear. Tuned for bassheads in mind, it is showing interesting opposite characteristics. Thanks to keephifi for the sample. Buy if don’t mind the non invasive big bass.
