Hidizs Mermaid Ms1 review is finally here. Hidizs is a brand hailed from China as many others too. Placed in budget limits, let’s see how this performs.

Box, Hidizs Mermaid ms1, Cable

Box is a rectangular black box with plenty of information at the backside. Within the cardboard box the treasure trove lies. Ms1 dug in foam first layer, beneath it are countless tips for various goals, plastic storage case, documents in lacquered black paper as the rest of color scheme is, and a classy looking carrying case.

Ms1 has a huge body for an iem. Aluminium and custom-like shape to raise its comfort. Black and white gold colors used generously. 2 venting holes in every piece. Cable is replacable though why should you replace this already strong and hard to damage cable.

  • Driver: 10.2 mm dynamic driver
  • Frequency response: 20 Hz – 40 kHz
  • Sensitivity: 109 dB/mW
  • Impedance: 18Ω
  • Cable: replaceable, 0.78mm 2-pin
  • Weight: 16 gr

Sound

Black background and bright & forward & huge soundstage are its key points. Soundstage is huge but not ultra wide. Instruments and notes are easily selectable. Good layering for what it is (sub $100 iem) A tiny tad of metallicness is observed. No sibilance. And fairly easy to drive. Sub par isolation. Might change with eartips. Hidizs intended the user to try out many tips. (See the eartips count in the box)

Bass is very comfortable at ms1 as its driver shape is too. A mellow bass in fact. Not clouding anything. Combined with huge sound stage, symphonic records are what its made for 🙂 And they go down to sub levels. You can tell it from the gentle vibration you hear after bass drop moments.

Mid is the field it is good at it. Instruments and notes are easy to pick amidst the chaos.

Treble is fantastic. Cymbals, splashes and other resonating musical pieces are well seperated and selectable within the musical thunder.

Hidizs Mermaid ms1 Conclusions

On the Vsonic Vs7 line ending with TRI Starsea; Black and shiny silver gold is used generously on this iem granting a premium look and feel. Not like cheap plastic of many Chifi is. With it well crafted build and energic soundnature its an unforgettable but not seeing the attention its deserving.
