Good morning, lads! Today we see together the new speaker from Tronsmart, that is, the Mirtune C2. This model is positioned in an entry level market segment. The price is very aggressive, lower than the T7 Lite, but will the quality be up to par?
First of all, I wanted to thank Nora from Tronsmart.
I’m going to be as objective as possible, and being a common audio enthusiast, I will use simple words in this review.
I will highlight what I liked and what I didn’t, without any fear.
It is a very versatile BT speaker, and from the price, we can still consider it cheap.
I’m not going to use super technical words to review it, but I will do my best to describe it.

Packaging:
The packaging is as careful as on every Tronsmart product; however, this is a cheaper product. Inside, we find:

We can say that the accessories are the basis for a similar product. The charging cable is a good one.
Design/Build Quality:
In terms of design, we are faced with the classic speaker. On Amazon, you will find many that resemble it. At first glance, it seems like a T7 Lite with a slightly more minimal aesthetic but if you check better, you will realize that the passive radiators on the sides are smaller, which already makes you think of a less powerful product.
The product appears more anonymous; we do not find any brand in plain sight but only the logos on the radiators. In front, we have the buttons, which, as you will see, are fewer than those seen on the T7 Lite; in fact, this cannot be managed via the app. On the back, we have the usual cap to cover the charging input, aux input, and microSD reader. It is a complete portable speaker that can be paired with other identical speakers but has no other particular specifications. As regards the quality of the external materials, I think we can safely say that it is on par with the T7 lite.
The LEDs with the rhythm of the music work well and are of great effect. Too bad for the lack of DSP.
First configuration and test:
The Bluetooth chip is always a customized 5.3 with much nicer prompts than the classic stock ones. Super fast connection and no stability issues.
I believe the Bluetooth chip is identical to the one present on other Tronsmart products, after the first pairing the connection is super fast. The only flaw is that stereo pairs can only be made between identical devices, therefore between two Mirtune C2 speakers but not with a T7 Lite.
Starting from the top, we find:

Sound impressions:
Bearing in mind that this is a low-end economic product, I must first tell you that it should not have the starting price of the T7 Lite.
The motivation is immediately clear when you have both there. The sound, even if it is declared to be 24 watts like the T7 Lite, is absolutely not similar in power or equal in tuning. The Mirtune C2 aims for 360 degree sound so you will never have direct sound from both speakers at the same time but you will find a more dispersive sound. So you will actually never hear the alleged 24W, but always half, while the others will be dispersed in another direction. If you are indoors, obviously, the dispersion will be lower. But the real problem is that the quality of the drivers is certainly lower than that of the T7 Lite. I had noticed it from the size of the passive radiators and I had confirmation as soon as I started the test that their power was lower. Bass tends to be weaker and distort earlier.
The sound pressure, having the two speakers placed in different directions, is more complex to measure but certainly does not have the same impact in open spaces.
I would describe it as more balanced across the entire sound spectrum. The problem could also be cheaper amplification rather than the drivers themselves.
If kept indoors as in my test, the sound aiming for a 360 effect bounces off the walls giving good volume and quality. With powerful bass it tends to move because it doesn’t have a rubberized side. The T7 Lite in my opinion (perhaps you can also hear it from the video) has a much more crystalline and also more directional sound.
Fast comparison:
The Tronsmart T7 Lite is undoubtedly better than the Mirtune C2. Although, at first glance and after reading the specifications, they may appear identical to those less experienced, I can assure you that they are totally different. The absurd thing is that it is offered with the same starting price despite the clear difference. If it is a slightly cheaper product, it should not have the same starting price. The T7 lite also has the SoundPulse app and technology, which further improves the sound. I would have no doubts about which one to choose.
Conclusion:
The Mirtune C2 is a reasonable product, but it should have a lower starting price, in my opinion, of around $29.99 USD, which can then be discounted further. I honestly don’t see the need for a similar product but in some countries, at the right price, it is certainly a product that will sell well. The sound in general is excellent but the 24 watts are, in my opinion, a little weak when compared to the T7 Lite, which has more or less the same specifications. Mirtune C2 got excellent battery life as usual, and LEDs work great. Having said that, given the price difference, I recommend you go for the other model.
At the price of around 25 USD, I think it is an excellent product. The market is very saturated with similar products and I believe that given how similar they all are in design, many people choose them for the promised wattage. Whether they are true or not, almost no one will notice, but I hope that Tronsmart will try to get closer and closer to JBL’s quality by experimenting with more drivers from more suppliers to find the best value for money.
