INTRODUCTION:

Tin HiFi, the brand which needs no introduction in the first place came up with its new upgrade named T5s which is a successor to the already existing T5. Now this T5s gets a single dynamic driver with a unique linear nano level composite diaphragm delivering a balanced sound that addresses the limitations of the T5. The Tin HiFi T5s gets some cosmetic changes on the outside and in this review let’s check how good the improvement has been done in terms of sonic performance.

The whole in ear monitor adopts a magnesium alloy construction which is CNC machined that feels nice and sturdy on the hands and with that added custom shell design it even enhanced the comfort of long time wearing. The faceplate gets the subtle branding that delivers a gradient tint upon lighting shows the detailed manufacturing process.

The stock cable is a silver-plated copper cable that comes in a 2-pin connector design feels premium on the hands and removes the thought of going for an aftermarket cable.

Tin HiFi T5s SOUND:

The signature that’s delivered by the T5s is on a balanced curve, where there’s no compromise in the mid-section with adequate faster low-end profile and bright enough treble. Technical aspects feel above average while providing excellent clarity on the table with neutral tone and timbre. Let’s dive into the detailed dissection of the sound through the following sections.

BASS SHELF:

  • T5s got a faster and precise bass response that doesn’t feels sluggish or mellowed out.
  • Sub bass has precise reach showing its presence whenever it’s called upon to the stage.
  • Mid bass has adequate warmth that’s enough to provide fullness to the track without allowing the congestion to act upon.
  • There’s a clear distinction between the sub and mid bass section thus delivering a cleaner bass response.
  • Bass heads might feel the bass to be on the higher side, yet the faster and tighter bass will make one appreciate the tuning.

MID SECTION:

  • T5s delivers an impressive mid-section which appears clean and well separated.
  • The lower mid-section provides nice presence to the male vocals without adding unwanted extra warmth.
  • The upper mid-section feels lively with rich tone to the female vocals allowing the instruments to shine in the background.
  • The extra spike in the upper mid-section slightly enters the borderline zone of harshness yet it’s under control.

TREBLE:

  • T5s represents a well extended treble section that provides adequate brightness to the presentation.
  • The extension helped the percussion instruments to come out to the stage with clean presence.
  • T5s delivers a nice, open and lively sound that doesn’t feel congested throughout the presentation.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS:

TONE AND TIMBRE:

T5s represents a neutral and natural tone with no hint of metallic sense to the timbre response. The balanced sound curve does help in a delivering a realistic sound experience.

STAGING AND IMAGING:

Though the stage doesn’t feel extra wide, the width and the height go well with each other allowing the notes to nicely spread out in the presentation.

Layering and imaging feels top notch in the T5s, with that extra touch of great separation leads the T5s to be a great technical competitor. The notes nicely sweep through the channels providing a 3D serene touch to the listen.

DETAIL RETRIEVAL:

T5s delivers good number of essential nuances out of the track and with that single DD the results out of the T5s are an expected outcome.

Tin HiFi T5s VERDICT:

T5s, the latest offering from the house of Tin HiFi now addresses the limitations that we had with the T5! With a more mature balanced curve, natural tone, and a cleaner presentation this T5s sets up its territory among the competitors.

Priced around 129 USD, this T5s adopts a single dynamic driver that gets the next gen ultra linear nano level composite diaphragm. The driver does stands up to the mark of delivering an impressive sound. T5s gets a nice luxurious aluminium alloy ear shells with a custom shell design for an ergonomic fit. The added magnetic faux leather case, replaceable filters with tweezer, 28 strands of 0.06mm enamelled copper and 54 strands of 0.05mm silver-plated copper 2 pin replaceable cable, and the versatility of ear tips just proves its price tag.

The balanced sound curve out of the T5s helped in delivering a faster and tighter bass response, cleaner midsection, and a well-controlled extended treble. The star aspect of the T5s are the vocal presence and the separation. The added natural tone made the T5s to represent a nice mid-range performance.

The T5s represent the macro dynamics well, with pristine separation between each frequency. They nicely layer and image, with a clean sweep between the channels.

T5s, the UNSULLIED sound that comes out of this magnificent masterpiece is a welcome package to this audiophile community.

  1. Macro Dynamics
  2. Faster Bass Profile
  3. Cleaner Mid-Section
  4. Track Separation and Layering
  5. Natural Tone and Timbre
