Tin Hifi is the brand we know from his iems but they catched up the trend with Tin Buds 3. Better late than never:) First looks of its case and the unit is promising. Let’s look to its sound.
Pros__
A satisfying balance of tech and fun
Call quality is life like
Stable connection
Cons__
Not for small ears
Unit are fingerprint magnet
Sound is towards FUN
Box, Cradle and Live Buds 3
Box is a bulky looking but simply filled cardboard cube. Getting any information from the box is impossible. However, the first thing you see when unboxing is the section called accessories. Manual, usb C cable and 3 sized silicone eartips. Under the first layer, cradle is waiting for you in its sheathed metallic shape. And when you slide the cover of the metallic cradle, you see the real beauty with the sound of “Pairing’ in your ears.
Tin Buds 3 is shaped identical to T3+. It means a smooth, dark colored but somewhat large circular shape with a hand painted back plate. However it’s texture isn’t that complex like it. Ah and don’t forget the classic TWS hiss.
Sound
Timbre is dark and mellow (gentle) basses in smooth jazz. Its a midcentric tws in the end. Bass hits sound smoothed as well as other mid band elements. Treble is nice when it comes to extensions that are fast. I can hear the full length of cymbals resonances or vibrato echoes. However I can’t say the same for background resolution. And instrument separation too. Eric Clapton Live has many of them very near to each other. BUT its wonderful when the piano solo began. Then the guitar solo.
Death of the Celts is beginning in a uncanny sense. The acoustic guitar has no problems yet if you don’t consider the smoothness. Dickinson’s tired vocal is placed under the main line in the mix. Tin Buds 3 is respectful to the OG mix. And guitar distortions aren’t preventing a fun time. It’s basses are thumping with some weight in dubstep or electronics in general with a slight sub bass. Tactile feedback is OK. And this thumping is turning to a big thump after the bass drop moment. Considerable and clean basses from a TWS yet keeping the vocal in front of the listener. It was tiring with some sub $100 iems before but you can see Tin Hifi tuners had done a great job here by keeping everything within a limit.
After all the listening and reviewing above; do not forget that this is a TWS and their purposes are mainly speaking and giving a sweet time with music. You will be disappointed if you delve into technicalities extensively. However – happily – this is not as poor as the TWS crowd behind. And you can believe tracks like this are created to listen with it https://deezer.page.link/JdQqRph7NKRQYkgn6It’s music quality rating is 9/10 for a tws. But 7/10 if you consider every earphone (cabled iem and headphone) into account.
Phone Calls
Loud and clear. And with all the touch based controls that is written in its manual. It’s getting a boost in volume when the call is beginning. And while you can hear the people in front of you, the receiver is having a hard time of hearing you if you speak silent. This is probably an issue with its microphone. It deserved a rating of 8/10 in this area.
Connectivity
No random drops or latency at gaming. Connection is alive within 10mt of the source. Not drops but chopping start happen around 10mt
Gaming
Realistic in FPS, fun in fact but it’s not generating huge basses when the shots are fired. Still no drop or anything.
Tin Hifi Tin Buds 3 Review Conclusions
%60 fun and %40 technicalities can summarise the experience. Considering the whole review was made under OG conditions (=stock very wide eartips), I can’t imagine when properly tip rolled. Thanks to Tin Hifi and Keephifi for the unit.
