Tin Hifi is one of the leading brands in chifi wave. Founded in 2018, they are releasing remarkable models from day one. Due to focusing on the sound quality alone, they had neglected the “design” of the unit and the box till this day. But these are the days of modern fashion 😉 The Tin Hifi t3 plus I am about to review is provided by Linsoul in exchance of my honest opinions. I am not affiliated with Linsoul in any form.

Tin Hifi t3 plus is the name of the iem they released that is breaking the old fashion Tin Audio (their starting name) they hanged on till 2018. First noticable change is the method of cable and the driver connection. They had stopped using MMCX connectors and switches to 2 pinned structure. Second is at the drivers design (and highly probably production as well). They had used a 3d printed resin body with a long concha point and marble texture looking hand painted backplate! Thinking of old t2 days, this is a huge step forward.

Box, Contents and the Cable

Box is somehow easy to open and simplistic. The real beauty is IN the box. You open the box and see 1cm of cushion covered white cardboard plate with two cloth strips that hold the manual & printout card together. The other side of the box are the drivers and two seperate transparent pouches one that hold different sized eartips in and other one that hold the cable in. Enough for an iem.

Cable is 2 lines braided somewhat thin and shiny looking. The first connecgtor is made of dark gray metal (aluminium?) and there are 2 layers of stress relief sections. Y slplit is made of the same metal and chin guard is too. After the earhook, the last connector. L and R is printed and there are blue / red plastic base around 2 pins that is going in the driver chasis.

  • Driver Unit: φ10mm Liquid crystal polymer diaphragm dynamic speaker.
  • Sensitivity: 105±3dB.
  • Frequency Response: 10-20kHz.
  • Impedance: 32Ω±15%
  • Max Distortion: 1% @1k Hz 0.179V.
  • Interface: Gold-plated 2P connector.
  • Conductor/Cable: Φ 2.8mm (40 / 0.05 oxygen free copper+ 200D Kevlar) 4-core Black PU cable L=1.25m.

Tin Hifi t3pro

The 10mm DD Tin Hifi T3plus is not rediscovering anything and using the same tried & proven design elements in the chassis save the longer and probably helping the isolation uzantı with a relatively short brass nozzle. The ordinary standard and dark yet transparent body is crowned with a golden medal-like bearing marble looking hand painted back plate. Great looks IMO.

Bass is pretty good both in quantity and quality. Not explosive or smacking me from left to right. But while the notal weight is high, the result is a bodied sound and so so sub bass is present in this overally good iem. Electronic basses are punchy and not lacking body. Bass drop seconds can turn into impressive and thunderously vibrating moments.

Mid is flowing like water, so smooth and delicate. Though not quite micro detailed (I couldn’t clearly hear the pressings of the note pistons of the flute at Love Scene from Hostsonaten), technical details are better than it’s price. Instruments and vocals are trackable all the time.

Treble is quite good even when unamped. But others see this as an upgrade over a renown iem, I didn’t. A darker sidegrade maybe. Leaving the objections alone, treble is two notches better than decent. But I must admit that treble can sound thin sometimes. Electroguitars can freely play solo in high notes and it’s okay.

Technical

Somewhat dark timbre with more than good layering and nearly immersive staging. Neutral to bright. Texturing and transparency is superb for its price according to my 80’s test in Toto – Africa and Natalie Merchant – When They Ring Them Golden Bells. I can hear and track many instruments at the same time. Instrument separation is fantastic so it isn’t letting me down even at trash metal. This power of seperation has been reflected to vocals as well. Hearing Slayer word by word means something. And no sibilance! I used to hear this at either  + 200$ iems or treble neglecting dirt budget iems before.

Amping Tin Hifi t3plus

From the first tones I heard, amp is highly favorable IMO. And I can easily say that no amount of LDAC power is satisfying for this charmer. Even v30+ 100/100 volume and 230 mV at Qudelix q5k was NOT ear piercing save it was high.

Instruments gained a boost in 3d imaging and texture. Smoothness rose up for the sake of micro details. Now the overall experience is ethereal. Bass is more gentle. Instrument and layer separation is better than the non amped listening. Hearing the chorus at metal is more easy now behind the double distorted electro guitars. Treble and lower treble gained resolution.

These results tell me that Tin Hifi t3 plus likes power.

T3plus vs t2plus

The most expected comparison of the day.

T2 plus is easier to drive with more or less the same characteristics. Treble is weaker and tonality & 3d imaging are lesser. T2 plus is prone to sibilance and micro details are non-existent. Bass lack the texture and the punch even at high impedance mode off v30+. I can’t “feel” the bass when needed. Or the treble is not refined as in t3 plus.

Other details are shouting t2 plus as an amateur version of t3 plus, so no need to work on it more.

Tin Hifi t3plus Review Conclusions

I think Tin Hifi joined the mainstream now with a safe step forward that is Tin Hifi t3 plus and brought a good amount of experience along. After t2 plus, its a pretty valuable second of its t plus name. Even without amping, all kinds of audiences can have good times with it. And amping is absolutely showing its potential in the new material of its BA drivers.
