Dunu SA3 is the iem I’ll be briefly scanning today..I guess the “first impression” term is a joke in my case because I rarely leave an iem alone without squeezing it like a lemon..Enough said before starting;
Source is dx300. Gain H Volume 30/100. A separate amp is totally unnecessary as was my dx300 too 🙂

I am hearing a wide soundfield with vivid mids yet slightly boomy basses. Live transparency is only okay. While the timbre is neutral to bright, that 30/100 is enough for a moderate to high volume at SA3. Extensions are pretty good just like the coherence. These are masters playing live. Nothing spikey or inportionally can occur.
In the quite good recording of Playing God by Polyphia all the instruments and their hits / plucking of their strings are noticeable. Stage is set as ultra wide. However extensions of high notes a.k.a trebles are a little rolled off
Notal weight is not especially high. Maybe like 75/100. Hence this explains the approach to bumps at smooth jazz. But even if it is boogie woogie or funk or heavy metal congestion of subdued vocals are present. Ironically vocals are its supremacy 😉
Dunu SA3 Mini Review Conclusions
My love for Dunu is well known. However I couldn’t stitch it to the Dunu picture. IMO dm-480 and Titan S and Falcon Pro were truly pretty good..says the man who loves and regrets that he sold his Ety er4s and will never sell his NF Audio NM2 🙂
