Dream Rabbit Ve5
Dream Rabbit Ve5

Introduction.

Welcome everyone to my review. I hope you won’t get bored with my review since this will be a long review. Don’t worry I will make this review fun to read. This will be my first style of putting anime references in my reviews. to my otaku or anime fans. So without further ado let’s start my review with Dream Rabbit Ve5

Background about me and personal taste in music.

I am a student and currently a hobbyist in the world of audio. When it comes to my sound library. I am more in anime songs and jpop artists (but not all jpop artists). To all my fellow anime fans, even otaku or weeb expect me to put anime references in my reviews by using anime music.

Personal Sound Preference

mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. my other sound preference is U-shaped, which emphasizes the low and high end.

Disclaimers.

This pair is a copy of the Original Ve5 from Vission Ears and I didn’t test the original Ve5.

I am a budget reviewer and I review based on the sources I have as of now.

Reasons to have this Pair[Pros]

  • Great Female vocals it has an expressive emotion.
  • Male vocals are prominent.
  • Great technicalities.
  • Soundstage is wide
  • great for classical or old music genres.
  • tight and controlled bass.
  • great imaging and separation.

Reasons to avoid this Pair[Cons]

  • Chances of having BA Distortions
  • The soundstage lacks depth and it feels congested.
  • A hint of peak and sibilance in higher volumes and sibilant prone tracks.
  • The fitting might not satisfy all ears.
  • Build Quality is more in average aspect.
  • Modern Tracks will sound metallic
  • Stock cable(Subjective)
  • in other music genres, the bass becomes less prominent.
  • timbre sounds artificial(Subjective)
  • Instances to be honky (Subjective)

Build and Design

The pair is made out of plastic resin. Even Though This is plastic resin. For me, it feels like a cheap plastic resin. In the shell, there is a Ve5 engraved to the shell. I can’t compare it to the original version since this is a copy of the original. The logo of the Ve5 in the shell is average and not that clear.

Fit and Comfort

in my ears, I encounter some fitting issues. At first, I am having a hard time finding the right spot. But after changing the stock ear tips to Shimin-Li reference Eartips. The comfort becomes great in my ears. The stock ear tips of this pair are somewhat average. though it’s passable enough. In general, with this pair, you need to adjust since this pair requires it.

Sound Signature

The pair has a Balanced-Neutral type of Sound but there are instances when it becomes bright. which depends on volume and track. The sound changed when I used the Shimin-li Reference ear tips it managed to open up the mids more.

Lows/Bass

For me, this pair has tight and controlled bass. Even though the Bass is tight it lacks the punch and body. in some tracks. Honestly, the bass of this pair is not an all-rounder kind of bass. The bass is only audible in old and classical types of tracks. in the track, Time is Love by Josh Turner the bass is audible. In general, the Bass is somewhat average.

Midrange

As a Mid-centric listener, For me, this is great but there are instances that it sounds honky but it only depends on the track. The instruments are great it has that clarity and great depth. Female Vocals sound good. It has emotion and clarity, you can hear the breathing of the female vocals. Male vocals are good but lack body and depth which is subjective for me.

High range

This pair has decent extension. It gives the Female vocals the air and makes it expressive. The details is good both macro and micro shine in the track. The pair can be sibilant in some tracks. I encounter sibilance in my anime tracks and some pop. The peak is prominent when increasing the volume.

Soundstage, Imaging, and separation.

The soundstage is very decent it’s wide but lacks depth. The imaging is good you can hear the tracks very well. separation is more on the average side.

Closing

For me, the Dream Rabbit Ve5 has decent sounding and if you want bright and technicalities this pair can be an option. Even though this is a clone it’s not that bad.
