Once there was Blon bl03 and we reviewed it. And now time for 3rd gen of Blon Bl line, Blon bl05s Review. Blon is a company from China. Amongst the hundreds of iem companies, what made them stand out? Legendary bl03 is the answer. It was sounding good for an affordable price. F word the earhooks thus fit..Now we rise the 05s on the stage too see better.
Box, Iem, Cable
Just like Blon bl03 box here. Containing the same pieces. 3 different sizes of eartips, iem, cable and carrying pouch tucked in.
Driver Type: 3rd generation 10 mm carbon diaphragm (single dynamic driver)

- Sensitivity: 108 dB/mW.
- Cable type: 2 pin 0.78 mm.
Sound
This review is written with 2 different eartips. 1st is the S Size that came on it and 2nd is with M sized eartip. We don’t change tips normally and all the iems come with M tips. Bl05s came with S tips on and this section of the review is done with S sized tips first. Result was horrific while all other reviews in world were positive. So we thought this needs a second chance.
S Sized Eartip
Background is dark and better than KZ Zst but worse than Final e1000. You hear its metallic tint with the first notes you hear. Little sibilance here and you can get a realistic treble for its price. But this plus gets you a tiring minus. Quickly getting unbearable in a treble happy band like this https://tidal.com/track/353343 Partially laid back thanks to god. And the stage is mediocre at all dimensions. You can’t hear the musical details if the instruments are natural. No signs of a 3d presentation. Thus no imaging at this one.
M Sized Eartip
The tip that should come along with it equipped. Its bright soundstage and pounding bass are the main merits of its sound. Plus detail level and detail depth is satisfactory for its price. But drums can be tiring if you are not making small adjustments with an equaliser. And sorry Eva, you are not the lonely and smooth voiced melancholic lady here with this iem. Bright and forward soundstage and not so dark background caused it…even though the previous criticism here, it does something good. For eg. Look For The Good is truly good with all its sibilance thanks to its modern pop music bassy electronic calibration. Summer Days is perfect with this too. And suprisingly Arcade Fire is perfect with this too. The energy of this band and bright presentation just got along well.
Blon bl05s Conclusion
Neither Eva Cassidy nor Sertab Erener Istanbul are performing at their best. Funny, Erener was an opera singer. And sorry for the whole jazz genre as your drums – cymbals – crashes are tiring and synthetic with this new kid in the town. But all hail pop, indie rock and various electronic genres with this iem.. Thanks to keephifi for sending us in exchange of our honest opinion.
