Disclaimer:
Good morning, Readers! Today we also have a new model from Tronsmart, which will be released on October 28. At first glance, the Tronsmart Mirtune S100 resembles a smaller Bang Max, and there are some design similarities. After testing several variants, this model is slightly ahead of the Tronsmart Bang SE, which had previously been the one with the best dimensions/performance ratio. This new model further reduces sizes while maintaining truly high quality, closing the gap with brands like JBL.

Even if the AUX cable is no longer present, honestly, I don’t miss it.
Design/Build Quality:
The design of the Tronsmart Mirtune S100 reminds me vaguely of the Tronsmart Bang Max; the shape is the same in general but the size and weight are all in favor of the newcomer. The retractable silicone handle is a nice aesthetic gem. Once stored, it takes up much less space than a similar model but with a rigid handle. It feels more or less like having a 1.5-liter bottle of water in your hand even when carrying it in a backpack; more or less the size and weight are the same. The build quality is sturdy, and the plastics and the fabric it is covered with are good. The passive radiators have a more hidden LED than usual, so the light effect during the day is less visible than usual. The passive radiators have a very pronounced excursion, I think around 1 cm. Inside, they have opted for a configuration with a single 30W full-range driver coupled with 2 10W tweeters on the sides. I think the solution is spot on, as the sound is truly excellent.
The main driver resembles those used by JBL and actually being oval, they are of decidedly larger dimensions. You can make the most of the available surface. The weight of the Tronsmart Mirtune S100 is 1.36 kg, a weight more or less similar to a 1.5L bottle of water.
On the back we find the usual slot covered by a silicone cap with a type-C charging port, AUX and USB input, and the possibility of inserting a microSD.
Built-in Technology:
The Tronsmart Mirtune S100 is no exception, and it includes Sound Pulse technology thanks to the integrated DSP. The Tronsmart Mirtune S100 is no exception and integrates all this with Sound Pulse technology included thanks to the integrated DSP.
As with more prestigious models from other brands, we can manage and customize the equalizer via an APP. As for firmware updates, I have not seen any yet; they are not very frequent but I believe that with time they will also further improve even the cheaper models.
For those interested in Sound Pulse technology, I refer you to their website for more information.
Starting from the left, we find:
- On and off button + switching of LED games
- BT for pairing or TWS mode
- SoundPulse to activate the mode
- Battery-led monitor
- Volume down button / if held down – previous
- Play/pause
- Volume up button / if held down – next song
- song
Power Bank Function:
Like other larger speakers, the small Tronsmart Mirtune S100 also integrates a power bank function. In case of emergency, you just need to connect your phone to the USB port on the back to use the integrated 4000mAh. Obviously, considering that the battery has that capacity, with a single charge, you could find yourself without a battery in the portable speaker.
If I could opt for a larger battery, I would have perhaps recommended at least going up to 5000 mAh, but the ideal is over 6000 mAh to be able to charge a smartphone and have enough battery to use the speaker a little longer.
Equipment used for testing above:
Device:
- Poco M4 Pro
- Hotwav Pad 8
Software:
- Amazon music UHD

Drivers Configuration:
The Tronsmart Mirtune S100 confirms my feeling that the brand has finally decided to increase the quality of the drivers used in order to compete with JBL or BOSE. If we consider the price of these speakers, the difference is finally closing. The main driver used is very similar to the one used on some JBL speakers; the choice of using a single large oval driver seems really great to me.
Maybe by optimizing the spaces, two 15w or 20w drivers could have been used. It would be nice to see a PRO version with this extreme configuration. This is not to diminish its performance, which is already extreme as it is. As you can see from the attached video, the excursion of those small passive radiators is incredible. If placed in front of us at about 50 cm or less in front of the chest, the sound pressure is such that it is tangible.
Sound impressions:
The sound manages to be both full-bodied and brilliant. The only very small sore point is that when you pause it, you can sometimes hear some interference noises from the Bluetooth. The problem is probably present in other devices as well but here, since there are two tweeters, the noise is highlighted.
I leave you with the sound test video so you can judge the quality yourself; the shots are taken with the phone so the actual audio quality is superior.
The amount of bass for the size of the speaker is extraordinary; those passive radiators seem literally crazy, but despite this, the distortion even at high volume is extremely contained. The two tweeters contribute to raising the SPL and help a lot in open spaces.
Through some measurements with non-professional but fairly reliable instruments at 50 cm of distance, I reached peaks between 104 and 107 db.
Track used in the measurement: Make Us Stronger – Ghost Rider
I can assure you that these are very high levels of sound pressure that unfortunately do not render from a video recording. I also noticed that depending on the device to which it is connected, there is some “extra” volume. Probably some smartphones or tablets have limitations in terms of volume for safety reasons and health regulations.
There is very little to say except that it sounds good, and if the bass is too much for you, just open the app and adjust it to your taste.

Fast comparison:
I would have liked to still have the Bang SE in my hands but I gave it to a very good friend of mine. When he saw it, he was immediately impressed (and I understand because I was too) and I gladly gave it to him. The Bang SE has considerably more generous dimensions; it is declared as 40W, which would be less than the 50W of the S100. The difference is that the Bang SE uses two very large full-range drivers and its 40W hit in a more realistic way. The bass having more possibility to move air has greater fullness. Apart from that, I still don’t know exactly the release price of the Mirtune S100 but considering the size and power, it could end up costing as much or more than the Bang SE.
Conclusion:
I think that finally the comparisons with JBL will be more equal. From some products to this part, the quality has finally improved; we will have to see if this path will be maintained, but the Tronsmart Mirtune S100 enters directly among my favorite speakers; its retractable handle, the performance, and the dimensions make it still quite portable and comfortable. If then a friend of yours buys another one and you pair them like the TWS, the result must be phenomenal. The only flaw, as I have already said, is the less bright LEDs than usual. Adopting white membranes or transparent passive radiators could certainly increase their effectiveness but in my opinion, they are not as essential as good audio quality and excellent battery life. The background noise can be heard during pauses or in cases of totally silent environments. Excellent product and I highly recommend it.
