Truthear x Crinacle Zero Review

Truthear x Crinacle Zero is the fresh entry into the very crowded sub $50 iem market and it looks like they can find a way with its dual drivers. Can they? Thanks to Shenzenaudio for the unit.

Box, Truthear x Crinacle Zero, Cable

Box is looking pretty good and elements are well thought. Actually, it’s hard to believe that this is the first iem they produced.

Truthear Zero is somewhat large in size, 3d printed with a dark blue backplate. Nothing fancy to talk about save that it might not fit for small ears.

Cable is thick and completely plastic. 2 pinned .78mm. Suitable and OK cable for its price.

Sound

You can read its mini review if you like first. Bass quality is the greatest merit it has. Those low end seconds behave without a bleed and create slamming moments. Even though I had lived better in some iems before, daring this is precious. This is leading it to controlled and neutral basses. You can have tactile feedback and more than good clarity and instrument separation and have shakes at the same time.

Timbre is neutral to dark, more leaning to neutral side and layering is OK. Not big here and sometimes splashy.

Mid means both technicalities and upper mid as some metallic instruments. Combined with its sweet layering, metallic blown instruments never lose energy. Soul music is pretty good with Tzero’s nature.

Even though the slightly recessed mids, progressive music like DT is budget fun with it. However you are accepting to lose some beats buried beneath due to the limits of its price tag and violins inability envelop you like a hurricane. They are somewhat lifeless in fact. The rules of YGWYPF come to mind..But its pretty okay if you don’t mind this fact.

Treble isn’t piercing at all. Otherwise, the sax intro of P. Sanders should have created discomfort. Or should have extracted some treble info from certain tracks.

Balanced__

Superior than the unbalanced sessions. Clarity, separation and layering improved greatly but the bass lost its slam. However, Truthear Zero is one of the ideal picks for fast paced violins and accordion of tango music in the budget range now. BUT recessed mid range (I mean vocals here) are still an issue here.

Comparisons__

vs Celest Gumiho

Gumi is brighter than it and more crispy. Violins are in texture and 3d imaging. However bass isn’t a department it wins over Tzero.

vs Salnotes Zero

Szero is brighter and more clear than Tzero. Bass has slammed some notches less than Tzero. And violins + accordions are much more full of life than Tzero.

Truthear x Crinacle Zero Review Conclusions

We have a new budget contestant and Truthhear Zero is playing its cards well for bass minded. A good choice if you keep the slightly sluggish and darkish timbre in mind. Here is the link if you want to buy.
