TL:DR__

Pros

  • Affordability
  • Prestige
  • Cohesion
  • Majesty
  • Musicality

Cons

  • Not the widest soundstage like i3pro
  • Not for the basshead or electronic lover
  • Not so punchy

Sound

The Kinera Celest Phoenixcall has good layering. I noticed that each layer of sound is clear, allowing for an easy and enjoyable music listening experience. It does a good job in presenting each instrument in a way that’s both clear and authentic, making you feel connected to the music. The timbre is pretty accurate, helping instruments sound natural and engaging. The Phoeixcall is also quite speedy in its sound reproduction, responding well to fast tracks without missing a beat. This makes it suitable for different kinds of music genres that use extensions of their instruments to complete the musical experience (err, almost every genre but some particular ones) The soundstage it offers is also worth mentioning. It’s wide enough and gives space for the instruments to breathe, providing an immersive listening environment that iem enthusiasts would appreciate.

Bass

The bass was the first thing that grabbed my attention when I listened to the Kinera Celest Phoenixcall for the first time. The sound is rich, yet it does not suffocate you; it is more like a warm embrace than anything else. It enriches the music with its warmth and depth without dominating it, setting down a rhythm that is consistent and calming and enhances the enjoyment of any song.

Midrange

Let us move on to the midrange now, shall we? Here is when the Phoeixcall really comes into its own. This sound has a vital, bright, and genuine quality about it. When I shut my eyes, it seemed as though the musicians were right there in the room with me. Everything in the midrange, including the voices, the instruments, and everything else, is crystal clear and authentic, giving the music an atmosphere that is personal and immediate. Hearing each string when a particular configuration has been established is, without a doubt, an amazing experience.

Treble

As they move up to the treble, the Phoeixcall maintains their level of play. The treble band is rich with resolution, slightly bright and energizing, and provides the music with life and sparkle without sounding harsh or overpowering. It strikes a wonderful balance, giving me just the right amount of information to keep me interested while still being soothing enough to listen to for long stretches at a time. To be more exact, it is improving its net value across a wide variety of genres. In music from the 1970s, such as funk or soul, it will be difficult to refrain from employing it.

Kinera Celest Phoenixcall Comparisons

vs Tanchjim Kara

Tanchjim Kara is noted for having one of the best midrange performances among IEMs tested, showcasing a splendid timbre and impressive representation of both vocals and instruments. Its sound profile is balanced, equilibrated, and smooth, providing a delightful listening experience. The treble range in Tanchjim Kara is slightly more pronounced compared to its lower midrange, but it still maintains a crisp and engaging sound. Its soundstage isn’t extremely different, but it is clear that the IEM offers a notable auditory experience with a good balance between different frequency ranges.

vs Celest Pandamon

The Celest Pandamon embodies Kinera’s commitment to improvement and development in the field of audio technology. With the introduction of the improved SPD 2.0 Planar driver, the Pandamon signals a new era of enhanced sound that is noticeably more easier to drive. However, technicalities such as bumpiness, layering, naturality, resolution and vividness are falling suffering compared to Phoenixcall when put into AB comparison with the Celest Pandamon. Despite these comparisons, it’s important to approach the Pandamon with an appreciation for its unique sound profile and the technological advancements it brings to the table in Kinera’s lineup of audio products.

vs Celest Gumiho

I know its not logical or fair to add already aged Celest Gumiho to the comparison table, but being Celest’s first release made it worthwhile. Celest Gumiho presents a wide soundstage even in studio recordings, offering clarity as a standout feature. The planar driver in Gumiho, while subject to some debate regarding its authenticity as a true planar, is acknowledged for enhancing the essence of the music it plays, albeit at a budget level. Here we see the actual loser of the fight against the legendary board.

Conclusions

In conclusion, experiencing the Kinera Celest Phoenixcall was truly remarkable. The device not only carries a sense of prestige but is also affordable. With a wide and airy soundstage, even tough it might not be the widest you’ve heard, but it surely delivers a sense of majesty and immersion that music lovers will appreciate. It provided me with delightful moments of both fun and deep musicality, ensuring each note carried weight and importance. For anyone looking for a premium, musical, and majestic listening experience without a hefty price tag, the Celest Phoenixcall might just be the perfect fit with all the pros and cons. Thanks to HifiGo for the sample.
