QoA Pink Lady review is here by the help of a volunteer. Queen of Audio is a brand made up from women and while all is going the same route, they are making mistakes so they do better next time. Let’s see the thorough review of this purple hybrid of 2 DD and 1 BA.
Box, Box Contents, QoA Pink Lady And Cable
I don’t know anything about it’s box and box contents because this is a loaner. So I skipped to unit and it’s cable.
Pink Lady is 3d printed resin with – SURPRISE – Pink color. Dark pink in fact and transparent. Nozzle is a part of the case and short. Ending of the nozzle is like Oo. Clear sign of crossover presence. But no single venting hole..Funny because it’s not claustrophobic in my experience but it had to be.
Cable is looking strong yet so primitive. Braided 4 cores but only with shiny black plastic exterior surfaces of cables are seen. No eye appealing texture on them. Connectors are fully present but simple ad if this is their first experience.
Sound
Dark timbre, airy and somewhat laid back presentation (nearer to me than Bd005pro), playing natural with somewhat high efficiency, wide and partially high stage. Not monitor-like layering and it’s probably due to the ampless experience with it’s stock cable. LG G7 + Vesper + 6N Copper cable had done wonders in the past. Why not with PL?(Pink Lady) Early roll off at treble detected. Can’t cope with high bpm music and dragging a little bit behind. But can come over complex passages. Extensions are weak in volume. No sibilance.
Bass is truly thumpy and not bleeding. And showing signs of neutrality. You get shaking bass at dubstep but only enough at Iron Maiden.
Mid is not bad when unamped. But mid frequency is overall shy and this is highly probably showing the need of an amp / better cable.
Treble is it’s unamped strength. Extensions are fading out properly. So decay is natural at PL.
Amping Pink Lady
Instant improvement at everything! Notal strength at guitars, layering, extensions improved like %50. Neutrality and smooth playback is still here. Didn’t gain punchiness and therefore attack. But microdetails are awakened. Timbre had brightened up and the singer was repositioned near me with a perfect texture on his vocal.
Cabling Pink Lady
Used my standart 6N Pure Copper cable. Improvements are not high as the amp did but the poor quality of the stock cable is obvious. If nothing had changed, volume is raised up by a notch if I had willingly pressed the volume up rocker.
QoA Pink Lady Review Conclusions
A nice effort of the female power in iem industry. But while I think Vesper was a better iem, they had to learn some tuning lessons from this one.
