Box and Cable
Box is made of the effort of a graphic designer for sure. Contents are above mediocre for sure. But you can’t see a Dunu here when it comes to box contents Cable is thin but braided and looking metallic. If it wasn’t that tangling, its a cable to be loved. Oh don’t forget the very easy to connect system. That easiness to connect mmcx cable and driver was an errand before. But seeing this comfort in an iem below $100 is very lovely. Big boys had it too but they were +$300.
Sound
Coherency between notes in Limehouse Blues are charming but recessed mids are evident. Thank god its not a KZ V graph. The clarinet is having hard time to sound strong. But the vibrato is quite nice after it. Touches of sticks make short resonances. And the rest is it’s successful extensions with not so very quality rumbling beneath basses and average live on stage transparency.
Stage width is true to the record. Width and depth are according to the stadium. With the black background, every instrument is efforting is best in this generally relaxed listening. Not that good on stage layering is hurting at Zimmer’s Live in Prague too. But resonances above add a degree of realism. And positioning on the stage too.
Electronic basses are strong with immersion thanks to its trebles that can near the level of being splashy and tiring.
Whispers of the Octopus are not striking and unlike a snake roaming around you as it should be but after the drums begin, details are not drowning in bass which is a big point. Organic trebles aren’t tiring even a bit. If it was much better at sub basses with thumpy mids, The Electro Suite would be perfect with it.
Stage is obviously large in modern and good record of Playing God. Everything is flowing with an analytical sense at +%30 speed and nothing is getting messed up. But the usual not so good basses located in the below layer remain.
Gaming
Chillout sample at COD is nice albeit somewhat recessed. And the into video containing Ghost In The Shell characters were fascinating. Positioning is good in this berry of a iem. You can estimate enemies. But weirdly, the bass is withdraw below strong or punchy or thumpy.
KBear Ormosia Review Conclusions
While Ormosia is a rare fruit of a specific part of the world, this iem Ormosia is combining big and soft basses with fast trebles that help 3d imaging and realism. This is the reason to wonder about it, if not the authentic box design. Thanks to KBear and Keephifi for introducing us with it. I hope KBear addresses this points in their future models.
