CCA – CRA here. This is pre review / first impressions and pros / cons. I’ll be covering amped and cable rolled sections in the review. Thanks to KZ for the review sample. Disclaimer: This sample is provided by KZ, my opinions are unbiased as always and all is out of my perspective. Your experience might be slightly different.
The Sound
Bodied and so so transparent sound with decent high frequencies. Bass is thumpy but not bleeding into other areas. Isolation is only okay. Stage width at live recordings is nearly immersive. But the soundstage is not WOWing me. It had to be very large in all dimensions to accomplish that. And instrument separation is surprisingly nice. Allowing me to track a specific instrument on specific moments. Upper treble is meh. But tonality is pretty good for it’s price. I don’t know the exact release date but considering CCA and KZ are the same brands, CCA in general and CRA in specific might be their testing platform. The overall experience I got from David Lanz – Skyline Firedance is a living proof.
Pros
Neutral and slight warm and again slightly bright sound
Somewhat organic
Nice instrument separation
Fit is easy and comfortable
Cons
Average soundstage
More bassy than needed
Tonality is one notch better than meh
Treble is lifeless
CCA – CRA First Impressions Conclusion
So in summary it is a nice iem if KZ or CCA is your thing (you love bass and pounding bassy atmosphere). Plus a good starter iem as well. Considering it’s price ($20 something)
