BGVP is a Chinese company and this is BGVP DM8 Review. Latest addition to DM series in which 4 crossovers are used with pig nosed nozzle and 3d printed large body. Since vg4, their cables are a strong point as well as the kidney caring prices and sound qualities.

Box, Iem and Cable

Box is a fancy looking double box. Large too. Cardboard and colorful shiny on the outer, a black BGVP box with shiny letters on is within it. Necessary stats and its logos are all over. In the box you WOW for its generous number of contents and organisation. Different sized seperate eartips, foam eartips, spheric container for its cable, and 2 (one is 2.5 to 3.5 and other is 2.5 to 4.4) cableplug adapters, earpieces of various core colors.

Cable is a tightly braided 8 stranded (50 core each) 6N UPOCC cable. Standart velcro BGVP cable strap gets is together. Each wire has a braided cable in. The main plug is a somewhat huge aliminum barrel. Stress relief plastic piece and chin guard aren’t forgotten. Y split piece is looking identical to the end plug. The connectors are MMCX and seperated from the other with either red or white.

Iem is a 3d printed custom like large chunk. 4 Knowles and 4 Sonion drivers with 4 crossovers in each units. Nozzle is pig nosed like the other versions of DM line before. Has metallic gray or painted wood colors. All are handcrafted. Air ventilation is handled with a tiny hole beneath the units. Uses MMCX connectors. Isolation is above average due to its tips insertation in your ear and concha filling body too.

Sound

Disclaimer: The unit is supplied by BGVP in exchange for our honest opinion. And this section will be divided into 3 as it is stock cable is 2.5mm terminated. So we used BTR5 mobile amp and LG G7 (60/100 Tidal Master) 1. LG G7 2. BTR5 3.5mm 3. BTR5 2.5mm

1. The sound is neutral and life like with no enhancements other than hearing the laid back smooth music an inch away from your eardrum. Clarity is brilliant. So is fidelity. And balance. Almost like listening through a hifi speaker. Stage is not crazy huge. But deep and adaptive so hear the symphony in a stadium as how it should be, 3rd line of the stage (chorus of man) is on your ears while +90 instruments play their tunes. Imaging is at top notch. You can guess every thing dropped in the stage judging their micro resonance and reflections at Yosi H. – Bubbles Instruments are lined up with superb seperation even, lacking in power, at G7 . In Motherland you can sense the crashes decays in the natural manner. There is no sibilance with a great transparency and layering between instruments and main + back vocals.

Sub bass is not head wobbing or stomach shaking like DN2 we reviewed. Mid bass takes its place instead. While you don’t hear any distorsions (midbass thump) at this area, modern pops bassy mixes are sounding clear with elevated bass thumps. The guitars and all others sound smooth, so just a smile (instead of grin) for Slipknot – Solway Firth. Mids are detailed yet gentle to your ear as well as the whole treble range. Maybe its because its of the power of G7. We will see in the 2nd stage of this review.

2. We are in BTR5 at 23/100 volume H gain. Single Ended, we reached the sound level of G7 at 65/100.

Instruments gained body, details and edges. So is bass guitar too. Our classic Jethru Tull song is more fun to listen now. Battery is punchy now. Sound is forward than laid back. The speaker sensation grew. Now we are listening the rec room.

3. We are in BTR5 at 23/100 volume H gain. Balanced, we reached the sound level of G7 at 75/100.

The ultimate mode for BGVP DM8. You are IN the place where recording happened. Stage is expanded to its fullest, reflecting the hall or stadium. The realism, imaging and instrument seperation is at its last point too. Blown instruments in blues pierce as you feel bass guitars within you.

BGVP DM8 Review Conclusion

We’d like to thank BGVP for the great products they released lately and we reviewed. They both be a wonderful addition to the crowded chifi market.

Speaking of dm8, you don’t have to sell your kidney yeah. Its priced around 350$ But good sound comes with good requierements. Such as a mobile amp like btr5 we had reviewed.
