Disclaimer:
Today I bring you a new review of a portable speaker. This time I have in my hands a little product, the Tronsmart Mirtune H1. An ultra compact version that I must admit makes a lot of sense. I also had the chance to try the T7 Mini and in comparison, we have perhaps a slightly better sound but a truly remarkable size. This new model is very well suited to outdoor use; it is compact, robust, and small in size, but the sound is loud enough to have no problems even in large spaces.
Aside from the fact that it won a design award, what I immediately noticed was a superior build quality compared to their latest products.
I’m not going to use super technical words to review it, but I will do my best to describe it.

Packaging:
The packaging is always very well finished. Tronsmart has always used the purple, orange, and white color combination. Sturdy and complete packaging.
Inside there are fewer accessories; in fact, in addition to the manual, there is only a USB to Type C cable. The speaker in question only has BT connectivity and no AUX.
For the use that is to be made of it, I believe the choice to limit possible inputs makes it more robust and resistant.
Design/Build Quality:
In terms of design, the Tronsmart Mirtune H1 won an award. For my personal taste, the design is not particularly different from something already seen but in terms of construction quality, I find it truly improved compared to other products of the brand. It has an interesting weight that conveys solidity; the materials used are excellent: metal hook, rugged rubberized side, rubber back, and fabric front.
A design that I would describe as minimal but well-done. On the front we have the rubberized buttons to manage the music being listened to, on the upper part but on the back the power and pairing button with the LEDs in the center to indicate the connection status and battery charge. There are many small details that make this product very complete. In the lower part instead we find the Type C completely exposed; this choice leaves me slightly perplexed as regards dust and dirt. In terms of water, it could be waterproof and not create problems but personally, I would have preferred a protective cap for the type C. It lacks extra audio inputs and atmospheric LED lights but for the type of product, it is a logical choice.
App & Features:
Finally, Tronsmart is raising the quality of all its products to compete with even more famous brands. Also in this model, they have added a DSP and the possibility of connecting multiple devices of the same type. I hope in the future mixed pairings can be made between different speakers in order to also create mixed speaker pairs. The EQ management can be done via app; there are different possibilities and the possibility of customizing the sound.
Equipment used for testing above:
Device:
- Redmi Note 7
- Poco M4 Pro
Software:
- Amazon music UHD 24bit 96kHz
Sound impressions:
As you can imagine, the Tronsmart Mirtune H1 with its 8W is absolutely not able to compete with higher category or larger products, but compared to the small but bulky T7 mini, it does surprisingly well. Searching online there is a video where a user performs a teardown of the product and I discovered that it also has two small lateral passive radiators, a surprising solution given the limited space. The sound can be adjusted to your liking, the volume is very high for a single driver, and the bass is present, despite its size limitations.
Fast comparison:
vs Tronsmart T7 Mini
The Tronsmart T7 Mini should be its direct competitor but in reality, this model is quite bulky for the sound quality it offers. Personally, if I can afford such a bulk, I would go directly for a T7 lite but if I needed something compact, the Mirtune H1 would certainly be a good choice.
From my tests, the sound of the T7 lite has more bass but the sound is less clean and bright. Despite the fact that the driver and the passive radiator should be larger, the sound quality is more grainy. The small Mirtune H1 pushes very well with remarkable cleanliness. I think the driver is of superior quality.
Conclusion:
Tronsmart is raising the quality of its speakers; there is more care in the construction, more functionality (via app) and the possibility of combining them with each other. We are far from the concept of mixed pairing of speakers of different models but I hope in the future they will be able to implement this functionality too. The Mirtune H1 has certainly been well built and its sound for the size it has is excellent. Being a single driver of limited dimensions, the equalization even if working does not allow huge variations, especially on the low range but the fact that a similar product has an app with different equalization possibilities is certainly pleasant.
Given its shape and water resistance, this portable speaker is particularly suitable for outdoor use; attached to a backpack is excellent. I think that given the price and performance, several units will be sold.
