We had chifi iems for years but now we have EU tuned (PT actually) chifi (renown cable producer XINHS is behind it) iem by our friend Antonio Teixeira aka AKROS, named as Xinhs Erasmus
This iem you see has the name of Erasmus who “he encouraged the growing urge for reform in Christianity.” Body is 3d printed and transparent. And has two tuning switches + various eartips within its case + attention to detailed engrave on the body.
Now I will be first impressioning it. My source is ipad Pro 2015 and tracks are my usual review tracks
________
I am hearing a nice performance of live smooth jazz with fluidity + neutral to dark timbre + satisfying extensions & 3d imaging & dynamics (for a HM-fan* 4life) but not much attention to background details. I listened to the first 2 tracks of the Jazz at the Pawnshop and was charmed. This might be because of the tuning switch position and / or eartips and / or source. But I will explore all the probable causes and report back.
Time to sail to another master’s seas to find its capacity. I know Erasmus would. Now The Electro Suite. I am hearing a shockingly good stage depth layering and basses that feel their weight. Plus the treble extensions SQ never end. And with the not very clear background, it surely is combining the best of fun and technicalities in this live track. Effects of the variables I mentioned above will be examined.
I processed beyond first impressions concept and went critical in Playing God. Now I am hearing a non congested and meticulously seperated 3 guitars and the drummer.
No sibilance recorded and tonality wise pretty faithful any track. And with the successful layering ability, its clearness and protection ability with neutrality is reminding me of Ety line. This is one of the iems that the concept of neutralness found body in this price tag. I am truly hopefully expecting eargasm after fiddling with variables I mentioned above.
*I hold HM like holy for under $200 when it comes to technicalities and musicality. This one is both inspired by it and is walking in its path.
