Disclaimer:

Good morning, readers! In this review, we have the RevoNext RH-213 Plus. To be honest, I did not know this brand and even with some research on the internet, even if the company has existed for some time, the information is little and it does not seem to have always produced IEMs but also masks for COVID. In terms of design, it recalls a design already seen in some other brand.

I’ll start by saying that I had some quality issues with the product but I decided to write the review anyway so I could share my experience.

I’m not an audiophile; I’m just a guy that likes to test out different IEMs and DACs and spends a lot of time listening to music.

So I’m not going to use super technical words to review it, but I will do my best to describe it.

Tech Specs:

  • Spec:1DD+1BA
  • Material. PC / Metal
  • Impedance: 22Ω
  • Frequency ring range: 10-40000 Hz
  • Sensitivity:103dB
  • Wire length:1.25M
  • Plug:3.5MM
  • Contact pin: 2pin 0.78mm
  • Standard: 3.5mm or Type C

Packaging:

Front box
Back Box
Unboxing

The RevoNext RH-213 plus packaging is very basic—not as basic as the KZ—but apart from the shape, the aesthetics are not very appealing.

As accessories, we find:

  • Tips
  • Type C cable
  • Manual

To be very honest, the quality of the tips is extremely cheap; the DAC type C is the most basic model that can also be found separately. For the price, perhaps more could be done.

Design/Build quality:

Nice looking

Regarding the design, the RevoNext RH-213 Plus is something already seen so nothing new in terms of design. The faceplate is nice given the shaded color, the structure of the shell is like many others, the DD does not show any external particularity, the BA instead is mounted in the nozzle and the nozzle filter seems to have only the metal grid. A choice that often foretells a certain sibilance. The construction and finishing I can consider good. We have a ventilation hole in front of the driver and a triple one placed in the back of the IEM.

Equipment used for testing above:

Device:

  • iMac
  • Poco M4 Pro

Software:

  • Amazon music UHD 24bit 96kHz (Both)

DAC:

  • Moondrop Dawn Pro
  • Fosi SK02
  • Fiio KA11
  • Fiio KA17 (most used)
  • Fosi DS2 (great paring)
  • Simgot DEW4X (improved treble)
  • EPZ TP20 Pro
  • Hidizs S9 Pro Plus
  • EPZ TP50
  • Creative SoundBlaster X5

Initial sound impression:

From the very beginning, RevoNext RH-213 Plus presented problems that I thought were sealing and somehow related to the tips or the shape but from memory with shell shapes similar to Kbear, I had not experienced problems. So I started looking for the solution with an intense tip-rolling but without actually finding the complete solution. Even if I reduced the difference, it was always present. In the meantime, I also noticed how the cable with the Type C terminal is remarkably noisy. I also change the cable with a cheap nicehck with a standard 3.5mm terminal but I do not solve the problem of the different sound from the two channels. Left side that all in all sounds good with present bass but the left side instead is much more calm. I have come to the conclusion that the unit received has problems; it could simply be a ventilation hole that does not work or a solder that has blown during transport. Although personally I am more inclined to believe that the problem is a faulty driver. As you can well understand, continuing the review would make no sense.

Final sound impression:

RevoNext RH-213 Plus

In my opinion, even if it had worked properly, the sound would not have been so special. Trying to balance the sound difference, I managed to have a fairly equal listening on both ears. The sound is neither particularly detailed nor engaging. Definitely a bright v-shaped signature with no particularity. The soundstage is very compressed; in some tracks it sounds really bad. The amount of bass on the left side gives me the impression that the low frequencies have a good curve, but in terms of texture, I can’t perceive many nuances. If we consider the price, there are an infinite number of proposals with superior sound quality, even from a single driver. Just think of the Kefine Delci or the recently released Klean. Maybe my unit is totally faulty but 29 USD is not a small amount of money for a similar IEM. I want to think that my unit was damaged during transport but personally, I have not found any particularity that would make me buy it.

Conclusion:

I thank RevoNext for the opportunity and the unit they sent me. I am even more pleased that in the face of problems we showed understanding and still strongly pushed me to publish the review, even if negative. Not everyone behaves in such a professional way.

As for the RevoNext RH-213 Plus, I advise you to read the opinions of other reviewers but my old KBear Rosefinch wins without effort.

3/10
