Review: Simgot EA2000 Boson – The Essence

Balanced was rarely that fun

Thanks to Simgot for providing the Simgot EA2000 for review purposes.
Simgot was a low flying Chinese company back in the day.. After the En700 Pro and recently the EM2 and EM2R; the amount of R&D time increased to quantum levels, hence the slogan, which in the beginning was “Salutations to Art and Science” – turned into Salutations to the Great Pioneers of Quantum Mechanics.

Packaging

The box was like a book that should be opened. Within that book, cleverly placed design elements welcomed me (is it looking familiar? Go check the EA500’s box.) and a paragraph of the story of the boson, the tiniest subatomic particle. And salutations to the inspirers. They are found on the outer side of the box too. A sponge platter to hold the interchangeable plugs and whitish storage box that contains the tips too.

Cable

Silver Plated with multiple braids. Looking strong, yet silky to touch. It is crafted with a silver plated exterior that is composed of multiple braids, giving it a strong yet silky feel when touched. The intricate braiding of the silver plating provides an impressive aesthetic that is sure to draw attention. The strength of the material ensures a solid and reliable build, while the silky texture ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Design

The Simgot EA2000 Boson is a unique-looking headphone, featuring a DD that protrudes near the smaller but space providing PR driver. The backplate is a matte white with a glossy company logo, giving it a sophisticated and stylish look. The shape and design of the headphone is unlike any other, making it stand out from the crowd. Overall, the Simgot EA2000 Boson is an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable headphone that is sure to turn heads.

Comfort

The Simgot EA2000 Boson provides an unbeatable level of comfort – my M sized ears fit snugly like a glove on my hand.

Simgot EA2000 Sound

The timbre is neutral with a notch of bright, with strong basses that are waiting in ambush. Layering makes up for its price tag. Instrument separation is a strong suit of the Simgot EA2000. Dynamics too. So, you can never get bored on any given track. This is escalating with the recording quality at the same time. And even more with the 4.4. plug within its box. The sound is becoming more open and spacious, with improved clarity, separation, and efficiency.

Bass

The precision and meticulousness of the basses in this music are truly remarkable. I can discern some subtle dubstep influences in the mix, which add a touch of modernity and freshness to the sound. When I listen to electronic music, the bass often takes center stage, enveloping me in a pulsating, throbbing sound that makes my body move involuntarily. However, it’s not just electronic music that benefits from a strong bass presence. In fact, all music styles can be enhanced by a well-crafted bassline.

For instance, if we look at progressive rock, we can see how the bass guitar plays a crucial role in creating the genre’s characteristic sound. The intricate, melodic bass lines in bands like Rush and Yes add depth and complexity to the music, creating a rich tapestry of sound that rewards attentive listeners. But it’s not just about complexity; even simple bass lines can have a profound impact on the listener’s experience. A driving, repetitive bass groove can be hypnotic and meditative, while a sparse, pulsing bass line can be haunting and atmospheric.

Midrange

The Simgot EA200 has a beautifully musical and well-integrated midrange. When listening to music that places a strong emphasis on the midrange frequencies, such as acoustic or vocal-heavy genres, the effect can be soothing and calming to the listener. The flutes in particular sound solid and substantial, even when played through a single ended input. Speaking of authentic-sounding midrange, few guitarists can match the clarity and realism of Ottmar Liebert. When listening to his music, I can almost feel the hand claps and the vertical positions of the instruments. The level of detail and nuance in his recordings is truly impressive.

Of course, not all guitar music is created equal. While Ottmar Liebert’s midrange may be among the most authentic, the complexity and difficulty of Dream Theater’s guitar virtuosos are on another level entirely. Trying to follow along with their intricate performances can be a daunting challenge, even for experienced musicians.

Treble

For my personal preferences, the treble range of the EA2000 was just right. This suggests that the bass must have been carefully calculated and balanced to avoid overpowering the rest of the frequencies. I also noticed that the treble structure was particularly pronounced in the music of Taro Haseke, which was impressive to pick out. In fact, the ability to discern the treble structure in such detail is a testament to the quality of the EA2000.

Modular Plugs

3 PLUGS

Plugs are a nice feature and inserting them is harder than Kinera’s, but especially BLUE one is elevating its treble response.

Simgot EA2000 Review Conclusion

Simgot EA2000 is an iem that makes listening to music so enjoyable and full of dynamics or covered in dream-like atmospheres, even on Apple Music lossless. I always look for a high level of technicality, but I am surprised by my love for that atmosphere engine. Whatever Simgot does it does so nice. It was totally the same for all the models I had reviewed (EA500, EM2R yet. But two are following). Inner brand consistency is a strong indicator of quality by both the industry and consumer and reviewer standards.
