HiBy has been making waves lately with its bold and innovative designs, and the Yacht 10 is another example of that ambition. Following the Project ACE Special Edition, which incorporated Magnesium and Aluminum in its build, HiBy has taken a similar approach with this new model. Featuring a 10mm dynamic driver and a semi-open design, it promises a spacious soundstage and impactful bass. But do these specs actually deliver in real-world listening? Let’s find out, starting with the unboxing.
Disclaimer: This unit is a loaner from HiBy, for AG Turkey Tour. I sincerely thank both parties.

Unboxing & First Impressions
HiBy has gone for a clean and practical packaging style with the Yacht 10. Inside the box, you’ll find:
• Yacht 10 IEM (Magnesium-Aluminum diagramph)
• Detachable mini xlr 2-Pin cable
• 4.4mm and 2.5mm plugs
• A black box containing silicone and foam ear tips in various sizes
• A carrying case
• User manual & warranty card

The metal build feels solid and premium right out of the box. It’s not too heavy but has enough weight to give off a high-end feel. The semi-open design is immediately noticeable, with vents on the shell hinting at a wider, more open soundstage. The stock cable, while functional, doesn’t add much character to the sound—it’s standard, nothing too fancy.

Sound Performance of HiBy Yacht 10
The HiBy Yacht 10 delivers an energetic yet controlled sound, managing to keep things detailed without being too aggressive. Right from the start, its analytical yet organic tuning stood out. When paired with the HiBy R4, an analytical source, every frequency range comes through distinctly. The soundstage is fairly wide, thanks to the semi-open design, but the instrument placement makes everything feel a little inside the head. For long listening sessions, this can be slightly fatiguing.

Where it truly shines is in instrument separation. In Truckfighters – Chameleon, where metal’s thick layering can easily become muddy, the guitars and drums stay well-defined and distinct. The 3D imaging is excellent, making it easy to pinpoint instruments in the mix. Victor Wooten’s bass work, known for its speed and precision, comes through crisply, with each note clearly articulated. That said, in some busier tracks, the soundstage can feel a bit congested, which is one of the minor drawbacks.
The tuning isn’t overly V-shaped, but the mids are slightly forward. Vocals are well-placed, but in some tracks, they can feel a little too dominant. In electronic music like Daft Punk, the bass is punchy, vocals remain clear, and treble stays detailed without becoming harsh. Acoustic recordings, like Pink Floyd’s High Hopes, highlight the Yacht 10’s ability to present a natural, layered soundstage.
Frequency Breakdown
Bass
The low-end is deep and controlled, offering a satisfying rumble without overwhelming the mix. It’s not a basshead’s dream, but it’s punchy, well-textured, and present when needed. In electronic, hip-hop, and funk, the bass is tight and impactful, making beats feel dynamic and engaging. Victor Wooten’s rapid bass lines remain distinct, with each note holding its own in the mix. However, in some tracks, I wished for just a bit more sub-bass presence.
Mids
Vocals and instruments are clear and detailed, but occasionally a little too forward. In The Revivalists’ tracks, for example, the vocal placement slightly overshadows the background instruments. That being said, guitars and pianos have a warm, natural timbre, making them enjoyable for acoustic and jazz recordings. The midrange remains smooth and well-balanced, without being too bright or too recessed.
Treble
The treble is detailed yet easy on the ears. Metal cymbals stay crisp without becoming piercing, and electronic music remains lively without introducing sibilance. Daft Punk’s mixes sound well-balanced, and upper frequencies never feel exaggerated. However, I did find myself wishing for a bit more air and openness in the highs. While the detail retrieval is strong, those who prefer a sparkly, airy treble might find it a touch restrained.

✅ Pros:
• Tight, well-controlled bass with good detail
• Expansive soundstage and precise 3D imaging
• Natural, organic midrange with clear vocals
• Solid metal build with a premium feel
• Versatile tuning that adapts well across genres
❌ Cons:
• Soundstage can sometimes feel too forward and slightly congested
• The “inside-the-head” feeling can be fatiguing over time
• Stock cable is functional but unremarkable
Final Verdict of HiBy Yacht 10 Review
The HiBy Yacht 10 stands out as a well-built IEM with a spacious soundstage, controlled bass, and solid detail retrieval. It’s an excellent choice for bass lovers and those who appreciate a balanced, slightly forward sound signature. Whether you’re into rock, metal, electronic, or acoustic music, it adapts well across different genres. That being said, it may not be ideal for those who prefer extremely airy treble or an ultra-wide soundstage. Some might find the inside-the-head presentation a bit much over long listening periods.

However, for those looking for a transparent yet organic tuning, the Yacht 10 does an excellent job of maximizing its dynamic driver’s potential. If you’re after tight, punchy bass with clear mids and a refined treble, the Yacht 10 is definitely worth considering!
