Fantastic 15 usd BT headphone
I am the founder of MBA and even though I reviewed some headphones in the past, headphones are Fahries specialty, and I respect that team work. I do not attempt to work on any headphones because of this professional respect. But a good friend (who is a hifi guy by trade but also likes to listen to high-quality music with high end stuff) told me about a likely clearance sale on Amazon.com, where I bought my JLAB Studio. Maybe it was an impulse buy without a thought, but despite its small cups, I can claim that it fits casual listeners’ musical expectations pretty well. And audiophiles can have a nice time if we hold off our technical addiction.
But technicalities begin when fun ends. The fun factor is letting the tech go willingly. I have to admit that it’s not a magical mix of tech and fun like a Simgot iem. But I am having a good time with no major deviations from the tracks I normally use every day. (Using cheap equipment meant that I will be living serious thumps of bass from the smooth jazz or classical music)
A 3EQ setting can drastically alter the sound. It is activated by simultaneously holding down the volume + and – buttons. The repeated beeps tell you the sound mode. All of the foregoing were recorded in OG tuning.Â
1st Jlab Signature mode: It deprives the headphone of some of its low frequencies if you are used to balanced mode. It takes some time to get used to. But the attenuating curve is steep in my case. “Gold on the Ceiling” became a synthetic trebled, dark timbre melody after a second listen.
2nd Balanced mode: The sound has the best in all frequencies. The track evolved into a modern day soul rock with more than adequate dynamics as the band blended guitar riffs and soulful melodies with a groove-heavy rhythm section. But great if you consider the price.Â
3rd Bass Boost mode: Allegedly bass heavy mode. It’s actually bogging down mode, draining all the dynamic beauty of this track.

Pros
Loaded with energy
Bass is occasionally striking where necessary even though it’s shelf is not so low
No sibilance
A sweet warm V (I normally despise it, but thinking of the price and size, its all okay)
Cons
Vocals can sound somehow distant
Soundstage isn’t that large
Not ideal for the genres from which audiophiles gain insight into the headphones they use
