The iBasso DX320 Edition X sits proudly at the top of the brand’s flagship lineup, and honestly, it didn’t take long for me to see why. From the very first tracks I played, I was struck by its ability to bring both technical precision and emotional depth into my music. For the test, I paired it with the Letshuoer Cadenza 4 IEMs using the balanced output to push both devices as far as they could go. The experience was nothing short of captivating.

The unit I received had Amp14 card installed. See the specs below.

The AMP14 card is built for serious audiophiles, using the Nutube 6P1 as a voltage amplifier to add a touch of analog warmth while maintaining incredible clarity. It pairs this with a JFET differential converter to deliver a fully balanced output, handling the left and right channels (L-, L+, R-, R+) with precision. What really stands out is the dual JRC volume control chips, which work together to create a true 4-channel balanced volume control. This design ensures the audio stays pure and distortion-free, even at higher volumes.

The Pentaconn 4.4mm balanced sockets are a nice touch, offering both durability and excellent acoustic performance. As for power, it doesn’t disappoint—5.2Vrms on the balanced power output means it’s more than capable of driving demanding headphones, while the 1.8Vrms balanced line output ensures clean, detailed playback for less power-hungry setups. Simply put, the AMP14 is a powerhouse for anyone who values both technical precision and musicality.

Sound Technical Details

Right away, I noticed how transparent the DX320 Edition X is. It unveils every micro-detail effortlessly, and I found myself hearing layers in my favorite tracks that I’d hardly notice or never noticed before. The soundstage is incredibly wide and deep—almost like stepping into the room where the music was being played. Instruments and vocals are clearly separated, each one occupying its own space in the mix. What really impressed me was the dynamic range; even at lower volumes, I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything.

Bass Performance

The bass on this device is something special. I’m a sucker for tight, controlled low frequencies, and the İBasso Dx320 Edition X didn’t disappoint. It delivers bass that’s both deep and textured without ever overwhelming the mids or highs. While listening to tracks with heavy kick drums and deep sub-bass, I could feel the impact in a way that felt powerful yet refined. It’s the kind of bass that keeps you nodding along without drowning out the details.

Midrange

For me, the midrange is where the magic happens, and the DX320 Edition X absolutely nailed it. Vocals sounded natural, emotional, and full of life, whether it was a soft ballad or a gritty rock track. I especially loved how it handled acoustic genres—everything felt so balanced and lifelike. Even on more intricate pieces, like classical or traditional music, I could easily pick out the individual textures and tones of each instrument.

Treble Performance

Treble can sometimes be a tricky area for DAPs, but here, it felt just right. Cymbals had a natural shimmer, and high frequencies extended beautifully without ever becoming harsh or fatiguing. When I played tracks with dramatic highs, the DX320 Edition X kept everything clean and detailed, making the experience immersive without being overwhelming.

Soundstage and Separation

What stood out to me the most was the soundstage. It’s like the music wrapped around me, with every instrument and vocal having its own space to breathe. The separation is phenomenal—nothing felt crowded, even in complex tracks. And the 3D imaging? It made me feel like I was right there in the middle of the performance.

Pros

• Exceptional Transparency: iBasso Dx320 Edition X unveils micro-details effortlessly, making every track feel fresh and immersive.

• Wide and Deep Soundstage: Creates a realistic sense of space with excellent 3D imaging.

• Strong Bass Performance: Tight, controlled, and impactful without overshadowing other frequencies.

• Natural Midrange: Vocals and instruments sound lifelike and emotionally engaging.

• Smooth Treble: Detailed and extended without harshness or fatigue.

• Dynamic Range: Maintains clarity and detail even at lower listening levels.

• Build Quality: Premium design and solid construction.

Cons

• Portability: Slightly larger and heavier than some competitors, which may not suit all users.

• UI Responsiveness: Like other high-end DAPs, occasional lags may occur with complex operations.

• Battery Life: High-performance modes can drain the battery faster during long listening sessions.

• Price Point: A significant investment, limiting accessibility to some users.

• Heat Generation: Can run warm during extended playback, especially in high-gain modes.

Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons, especially if you’re after top-tier sound quality in a portable package.

iBasso DX320 Edition X Review Conslusions

The iBasso DX320 Edition X isn’t just another high-end DAP—it’s a game-changer. I loved how it combined technical brilliance with a sense of musicality that pulled me deeper into every track. Paired with the Letshuoer Cadenza 4, it felt like the ultimate listening experience before the finishing line with Cayin n8ii. If you’re like me and value both precision and emotional connection in your music, this DAP is worth every bit of attention. It’s the kind of device that makes you fall in love with your favorite songs all over again.
