KZ ZSN PRO X Review

KZ means Knowledge Zenith, a seasoned budget oriented and iem focused Chinese company and now we are reviewing KZ Zsn Pro X – their X line upgrade of Zsn 10 Pro.

Box, KZ ZSN PRO X, Cable

Usual tiny KZ box with bare minimum equipment. Iem is premium in color scheme. But the back layer design is not anything new. Fits the ear snugly. Cable is KZs new ordinary first we saw at ZSTX

Sound

Stage is moderately wide. Not that deep. Resolution is meh. No sibilance at male vocals. Mids in general and vocals are below the main line. But higher treble is unexpectedly high. Bass is dominant though not exagreted. Kudos for almost reaching sub bass levels. But not flexible enough to dip at specific intruments such as bass guitar. Presentation is bright, glary from time to time. Female vocals are touching the border of sibilance. And instruments aren’t getting seperated. Texture is lacking too. You can hardly get the unique feeling of each instruments especially blown ones.

Why Should I Buy?

SQ for its price is close to vk4 save its brightness. Don’t miss for electronic music. And the cable + body is very nice. Easy to drive too. For a bright sound lover its a perfect piece for its price.

Why Shouldn’t I Buy?

A debatable upgrade of an ill repped brand. One might be listening organic instrumented music. I want tef sound like tef (a percussion in Turkish music). I might be listening fast and complex genres like Math Rock or Trash Metal. Or listening a supergroup like Liquid Tension Experiment. http://www.deezer.com/track/10967896 Just like the case with Math Rock, this iem can’t compete with the mastery of this bands.

KZ ZSN PRO X Review Conclusions

Nice try buddy! Can win the heart of a treble lover and / or bright sound desiring. But frankly speaking, not for %75 of the iem population. Many especially youngster do not like treble happy sounds as their hearing range is considerably wider than their elders.
