Final E1000 – REVIEW

We’ve always reviewed Chi-Fi but this headphone is designed, tuned and manufactured by S’NEXT Co., established in 1974. It’s Time to review Final E1000, it’s Jap-Fi time.

Box, Unboxing, Build Quality, Cable, Microphonics

Box have rectangular shape and it’s small, macro shot of the Final E1000. On the back there’s some informative things with visualizations. Box is simple like its contents: Headphone and 4 sized Final E tips. Material is ABS plastic which is a durable and lightweight material. Cable have L shaped jack, channel split is low and little thick. The cable also have cable noise (microphonics) because of the low hanging channel split.

Final Audio E1000 – Sound

Final E1000 have 6,4mm Dynamic Drivers. Have warm signatured tuning, sound is similar to top-notch headphones but E1000 requires much more power. The stock tip choice is the key factor of the sound’s fullnes and impact. Decay is soft at all times. And timbre is natural. No boomyness on Milonga del Olvido. Layering is another strong point. Even without an amp it can go down to 2nd layer. But any amp is welcome for this power hungry baby. Imaging is frighteningly good. Imagine he is blowing his flute some meters in front of you and J. Tull’s bassist on your right.

Bass, Mid, Treble

Bass sounds decent, decay is good. And they are all rounded. No harshness. The amount of the bass is enough for non-bassheads. Sub-bass goes down deep and layering is succesful and there’s no bleeding to the midrange. Probably won’t satisfy bassheads.

Mids are lovely, sounds musical. Lively sounding vocals, really good at transmitting nuances and emotions. Does really good job on Psychedelic Rock because of its succesful instrument separation.

On treble range cymbals are the first thing comes to mind and they are crispy and extends good. Since its warm tuning it’s not quite bright. Can’t much resonate to the very high frequencies. It’s good thing of not being piercing. But this also gives laid back and comfortable listening.

With Radsone ES100 amplification, Final E1000 noticeably became stronger, clearer and gained much more dynamic. This alone proves that e1000 needs power just like TRN BA5 we’ll be reviewing soon.

Final Audio E1000 – Conclusion

Overall Final E1000 is lovely sounding headphone. In terms of sound quality it’s above-average / high in every way. But one caveeat: do not listen electronics without an amp. With it’s sub-30$ price it will make you happy, with or without amplification. Most sincere thanks to Final Audio for this review unit.
