Here we have secretly awaited HZSound Heart Mirror Pro and it’s comprehensive review. While some brands were firing up models so fast, HZSound took it’s time and following the latest trend of mini xlr connector Trio, they managed to shoot a flare up in the sky. It needed to illuminate the Zero floodlit dark night. But let’s examine it closer.

Whenever we see a model dubbed as Pro, OG version comes into mind. This is not different. Looks are %90 identical to OG HM. Mixed feelings here. I will be using dx300, M gain and OG semi transparent tips. Knowing eartip effects on the sound, I am ready for what will come

Pros__

Bassier lighter HM basically

Nice technicalities and content of carrying case (3 different plugs are enough)

Can be 2 different good iems with tip rolling

Cons__

Technicalities aren’t in HM level

Looks are not much different than the OG

Shell can collect fingerprints

Box, HZSound Heart Mirror Pro, Cable

Box is a dark blue somewhat mid sized box unlike the first model. The main difference the inclusion of 3 plugs.

The HZSound Heart Mirror Pro looks almost like the original one. But it has darker gray tones and the shell looks slightly larger.

The cable is an ordinary silver plated iem cable with a mini xlr female ending. But there are two cables within the carrying case. One is that cable, and the other is the ordinary 3.5mm cable. Nice choice.

Sound

The timbre is neutral and somewhat gray. Smooth jazz goes well with Pro. But not as excellent as I was used to with HM. I can’t hear the clarinet in its vividness or 3d imaging like HM. Or the vibrato and the frail echo I am looking for.

The Electro Suite has good layering and clarity. Basses have more body than HM. However, the stadium-wide soundstage isn’t here.

And they give slight tactile feedback while the background is nicely detailed. Resolution is high here. But it has a hard time whenever the orchestra starts. BUT you can track the meteor swooping down.

Dubstep isn’t invasive or disturbing. But it meets you with huge bass strike after the bass drop section! Gosh, it became a basshead iem with the Centipede. 

Playing God isn’t as bright as HM but soundstage is wide and while the drum is striking, guitars aren’t melding into each other. And it’s showing you deeper layers of the track. The bossa nova section is pretty good despite the big bad basses it has.

Bella Luna of Jason Mraz isn’t as dark it has to be but pop drums aren’t bleeding in or preventing Mraz to express his love to his Luna. Tonality is more than decent and his vocal forwardly placed.

I am feeling the vibration of lower frequencies through my entire body with Mercy feat The Arcturians! So I lived the same in Sunken Technology of ASCENSION. And third trial is #Addicted of Riverside. Bass guitar is playing bold and heavy while the vocal is silky smooth on top of them..It’s strange and unexpected. At first I was looking at HM and now I am feeling a very enjoyable bass (and body) in its Pro Edition with only 3.5mm

<After Green Bored Eartips>

Everything is more lively when those tips are used. Background transparency is very good and bass control too. Soundstage widened. And 3d imaging has improved.

● Centipede of Knife Party isn’t shaking with bass. The sound is a thicker HM in electronics.

● The Electro Suite has higher technicalities than it was with semi transparent eartips. 

● Playing God has definitely less pounding basses. This is leaving room for technicalities.

● Bella Luna is showing the same differences above.

Conclusion of 3.5mm

HM PRO with 3.5mm connector has explosive bass with only semi transparent tips. Green ones are shifting its tuning to OG HM save the low end (and it’s naturally technicality killin’ effect)

Green Bored:

You are witnessing the jazz pub in Limehouse Blues with real life like positioning. The band and the crowd are clearly separated.

● Basses gained weight of semi transparent eartips with crispy treble.

● The Electro Suite performance has some distance between you and the stage. But the stage is deep. And not that mushy when the orchestra began their attack.

Best combination of fun and technicalities in 4.4 is here with only acceptable bass booming. It is retaining technicalities.

Dubstep performance is impressive now. Not vibrating but here you can have big bass explosions with 80/100 technicalities.

Whispers in Electro Suite aren’t lashing around but drums show resolution and cymbal extensions. The stage isn’t getting congested when the orchestra started marching.

Conclusion of 4.4 and Semi Transparent Tips: 4.4 balanced connector isn’t making a huge difference but eartips do. Don’t wait for HM 2 in HM style 😉

HZSound Heartmirror Pro Review Conclusions 

I have to confess that I expected more. HM was a godly iem in terms of technicalities after all. I quite naturally wanted more in its sequel. It would be a great upgrade. 

But I received an upgrade yeah but it’s more like diagonalgrade. Not up… or side… but diagonal upgrade. So enter HM PRO with this expectations and be ready for either stomach shaking basses and %70 technicalities or warm and bassy but %85 technicalities.
