Orange for my case. nside the sleek, minimalist box, I found the Ace securely nestled within a protective board, ensuring their safety during transit. Alongside the IEMs were the usual accessories. A range of ear tips of various sizes to ensure a perfect fit, two different mini XLR jacks and a cable that speaks to durability with its robust design.

Sound Quality
The overall sound quality is truly remarkable for its price range. This IEM delivers an audio experience that feels both rich and expansive. I’ve noticed that the music has a lively presence, bringing a three-dimensional quality to my listening sessions that deeply immerses me in every track. The soundstage is wide and open, allowing for precise placement of instruments and vocals, making it easier to appreciate the separation and layering in complex compositions.
This spaciousness contributes to a listening experience that feels live and engaging, making it suitable for a wide range of musical genres from intricate classical pieces to dynamic rock tracks. The music feels like it captures the essence of the era it was recorded in. For instance, listening to Louis Armstrong, there’s an analog and beyond atmosphere reminiscent of the era the track was ripped from vinyl. Similarly, a track recorded in 2022 sounds laboratory-clean and sterile by comparison. Thanks to the R8ii, I’ve never had this much fun listening to electronic music. I must admit, this is partly due to the Hiby x FAudio – Project Ace’s performance.
With this setup, I am hearing new nuances in songs I’ve listened to back-to-back for years. The source device properly reads the stored file, flawlessly transmitting it without loss and smoothly, while the Project Ace earphone does its best to deliver everything it receives. While similar claims were made about its synergy with the R4, I must say the Hiby x FAudio – Project Ace seems like it was made for the R8ii.
